I know that most of those losses came from the 90s, but it is not good when we were likely favored in some of those games. With that said should there be nothing to worry about?

I expect LSU to win but I'm thinking Vandy will give them a good fight. Not the same Vandy team of the past that was a freebie.

???

LSU beat Moo State in 2002 at home.
They beat UGA in 2003 at home.

Care to explain where you got your "facts" from?

I'm talking about when they start the SEC slate at home.

Both games were home SEC openers.

He meens the first home game of the year that is an SEC game. Not any SEC home opener

Oh, and I can only find two losses in the last 11 years, to Auburn in 1999, and to Tennessee in 2005.

I'm having a very hard time trying to understand why this is relevant to anything in any way, shape or form.

I'm pretty sure that when he said "in SEC openers that are at home", he meant "in SEC openers that are at home". Am I reading too much into that?

He's talking about the FIRST home game that is ALSO an SEC opponent.

Not just the first SEC home game.

Either way...it's a meaningless stat.

You've got me so damn confused lol. What years were those losses in a home SEC opener?

Just checked lsusports.net, in the last 19 years we've only opened the season at home against an SEC opponent 5 times:

2005 UT Loss
1995 Auburn Win
1993 Auburn Loss
1991 Vandy Win
1990 Ga Win

So I have no idea where you got those numbers from, but whatever.

generally speaking LSU has historically started off weak, then consistently improve and finish strong by the end of the season.

minus 2007, which was an anomaly in many ways, as well as 2008 which was a disaster
