Unfortunately it is always the dumbasses that call into radio shows and make their voices be heard so that is what people see. It sucks but what are you going to do about it?

I am one of those people that complained at first; maybe because like most of the negative post here, I was judging this book by its cover?

This is a rant and I rant, get it over with and then turn back to being positve most of the time. But for the most part, I'm conservative and I see L.M. and his concept as a H.C. being a winning one. Plus if any players read these boards, that would be inappropriate on their part, since they belong practing both in their player books and on the practice field, carrying all of that over into the team concept come game time for the Tigers. Plus they are LSU students working on an education, so I would naturally think that the vast majority of them don't have time for places like this, or at least I hope so.

With that

I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced what I have?Sat. nite I was fairly sure the sky was falling with regard to the defense. Sunday I read about Bo's first game as DC and felt much better. Monday I think I saw the sky falling again. Tuesday I felt like I was overreacting and was sure our D would be just fine. Today I keep thinking about our ends and outside LBs loosing contain time and again....No pass rush...poor tackling...O line's inability to open holes on the inside...pressure by rushers on our QB...punting...BUT WAIT...it was our FIRST game... Jefferson has a cannon ,can run and made a lot of good decisions...KW ran well.. our receivers are bad to the bone...PP and our LBs played tough...it was our FIRST game...kick coverage good...blocking good on the option...difficult to prepare for unknown schemes...it was our FIRST game.WHEW...I think I'm gonna be ok...how 'bout you?

it's a generational thing.

No, it's a stupid thing. Pure and simple.

This is embarrassing.

Does that include booing, actively wishing players transfer and never see the field again?

Just so I'll know.

Hate to break it to you, but, other than leaving games early, Les Miles and Co. could give two stinkin' turds about 1)what is said on this board and 2)what is written in newspaper articles.

Have a great day.

P.S. And yes, our defense had better turn some shite around by Saturday. Is that negative? Yep. Is it painfully true? Yep.

This thread was not addressed to those who want excellence, saw problems, and want us to play better. I saw the same thing. The D was terrible at times. If you are objectively offering criticism of the team and calling for improvement, that is reasonable. No one expects everyone to be a kool-aid drinker.

It is the apoplectic, irrational fan that continues to throw fits and wants coaches fired after one game that is driving everyone crazy. If we go 8-5 again this year (by playing poorly, not because of injuries or bad breaks), we ought to march on the AD's office and expect Miles to be fired. But, let's calm down and let things play out. He's 43-11 with a National Championship. If this season truly goes south, then get rid of him.

We have too much talent to put up with 8 win seasons. But, let's see what happens first and continue to cheer for the Tigers. There's a lot of football left to be played.

OU has earned their bad name as one of the worst fanbases by having the attitude of "we should never lose a game - if we do, it's because of the players or the coaches....never because of the opposition playing well.

Believe me, our fans are setting themselves for immense failure insofar as enjoying a season due to occassional losses to better teams - let's face it, no team will ever dominate EVERY YEAR....if they did, football would not be as exciting to watch!

Expectations have grown too high due to our team's recent successes, and instead of cherishing the recent past and building on it with positive support, criticism turns everyone bitter and into a "second-guessing mode", including our players.

I, like many, were disappointed at the overall play last week vs. UW, but I was also realistic in my picks that LSU would win 34-28 due to uncertainties with the new staff, inexperience, and playing 2500 miles from home with a 2 hour time differential. Few people handicapped that, including the famous SFP post, who predicted an LSU win by 30+ - when it didn't happen, it's the Miles bash all over again. I would prefer to congratulate UW on being well prepared and a better team than last year, and hope that our Tigers learned a lot about their weaknesses, as our head coach very aptly pointed out.

"I know I went kinda off topic but it irritates me to no end when I constantly read how if you criticize the staff or players that you are not a REAL fan."

No one has said you can't criticize. I have seen people asking others to stop calling out players and making personal attacks. Be a DECENT fan.

maybe the press in Alabama is exagerating, no? they love problems in LSU country so maybe they kinda slant their coverage a little.
===================================
The press, and radio, here in Alabama loves to stir up the "hate" thing between UA and LSU.Esp.before our games. UW was a tune up game, nothing more, nothing less. I know you don't need to be reminded what tune up games are for. It served its purpose. I'd rather lose all our ooc games and go undefeated in the SEC than beat the hell out of our ooc opponents and have a 6-6 season. Someone said on here that they would rather learn from a win than a loss. To that I say, right on,Tiger!

because they embarassed themselves, so they look for a scapegoat. cuz God forbid ppl should think that a TD poster is clueless. Obviously miles must be an idiot, since what they said didnt pan out.
