Please listen to Bob Davie's comments the last minute of the game.

quote:

"I really like the position that this LSU football team is in. You know, they have a difficult schedule, as you're always going to have in the SEC ... but they are a hungry football team. If you're an LSU fan, don't overreact if you thought this game would be a lot more of a blowout than it is. Because this Washington team with the energy generated by the new staff and young talent.

I don't if people are short-sighted or myopic or what, but wasn't it just two years ago LSU won a national championship?

I think most people rewatched the game yesterday or today and realized it wasn't as bad as it seemed. There are still a few ruh'tards out there that will bitch just to bitch.

I just rewatched the game, which was a better view on my couch than I had in the stadium. Anyway, I thought we played pretty well for a first game. I am a lot happier with the game now than I was leaving it. I thought the team played well as a whole, jefferson didnt make any dumb mistakes, and threw the ball away a few times that made him look like a veteran. LaFell needs to touch the ball more, and our oline needs to hold blocks longer, but besides that I would grade them a B+. Not many dropped catchable passes either.

Our D struggled a little with the short dink and dunk passes, but played the deep balls pretty well. Even on the passes they caught that we 10+ yards, we had a guy in his face, unlike last year. The pass interference on Brandon Taylor was the worst call ever! he didnt even touch the receiever! HA! Also, the dline was getting pressure on the QB, but any QB with 4.4 speed is going to be hard to bring down. Just like they struggled to tackle jefferson when they had him in the backfield. I'd give the D a B- because of the total yards, but they held their own considering how long they were on the field.

We would have probably seen a few more fireworks had we had the ball longer, but credit washignton for the ball control, and credit LSU for doing something with the ball when they had the chances.

Have you coached at Notre Dame? Your opinion means so much. You are possibly the ultimate ranter.

because his comments the other 3 hours 24 minutes were all about Washington being the better team. That what I got?

Absolutely! After rewatching, I really noticed this too. We got good pressure, sometimes just a step or two (or a hold) away from nailing him. And one other thing --- if you rewatch, start counting the number of times Locker had to throw the ball away (including at least one intentional grounding that wasn't called). The D is close. I think they get closer next Saturday.

yeah, and who the hell is "cut-era" ? Actually it wasn't Davie that kept getting Peterson's name wrong, it was the other guy. Finally Davie had enough and blatantly corrected him with doing it directly.

I'm not going in the middle of that conversation because it wasn't the intention in starting this thread and is certainly off-topic, but FWIW just because you get fired at Notre Dame (or any big school where there is a lot of pressure), DOES NOT mean you don't know football.

the game was pretty bad... you can say that you dont think it meant a lot... and we can fix our problems.... but fact is, if we play like that against anybody with a pulse we will get our asses handed to us

Look, the game wasn't that huge of a disappointment. We know how this goes. We won't know how good Washington is until later in the year. We are going off of how they were last year. That have made a lot of changes and are going to be better. And if they win 6 or 7 games, everyone that is doubting this team will shut up

I don't need Bob Davie to tell me that. He can keep his comments in Davie Jones Locker. rofl.

GTFO with that any team with a pulse bullshite.

Washington played one hell of a game and if you can't see that you've been drinking WAY too much salsa bud.

I've said it on here before somewhere but ill say it again... The teams like USC and Cal better watch there arse when they play washington. Washington is not a joke. They're no Florida or Texas mind you, but they can play some football.
