I'd like to think a guy with his skill set would. Miles offered Trindon and I think McCluster is far more effective.

When I look at him and Livas from La Tech I wish we took a chance on some kids who are flat out play makers.

Probably not.

We've also not offered a ton of defensive players bc they are "too small", and look how slow our defense is bc of it. And yet, I have to spend the whole offseason defending Houston Bates on here, when he's actually a rare LSU defensive player that can run.

As much as I like Demaris Johnson, McCluster is MUCH better than him. Damn, that guy is good! Keep in mind that none of the Florida schools offered him either.

It's amazing how accurate the RANTard braintrust is at talent evaluation--must be those 20/20 hindsight glasses you wear.

In Meat Market they talk a good bit about McCluster and how the staff was even unsure about him. They loved what he could do but were worried to death about his size and him getting hurt.

He seems to be the rare small guy that endures injuries and keeps playing... although, he did miss about half a season due to an injury.

I think that is the biggest factor when recruiting these guys.

Regardless I don't think we've been in on a lot of top flight guys that are smallish like that. And not by our choice... I just don't think there are a lot of them around that are interested in us...Even those mentioned (D. Johnson, D.J. Banks) all went to second tier div. 1 schools... so it's not like LSU passed and the rest of the world was beating down on their doors...

We went after Debose hard and had a great shot. We also had a commit last year, name escapes me, who switched to Georgia.

Dex is a playmaker that is hard to tackle in the open field. He's quick and he's an effective RB and WR.

Sure he's small, fumbles, and gets injured. But players that can't be tackled consistently are a commodity that you wish you had when you don't have it.

Jus' sayin...
