tried you tube, only thing you can find is the band singing the Alma Mater....and some crumb-crunching toddlers singing the "lsu fight song" which ends up being hey fightin' tigers.....i have never heard anyone sing the entire "fight for lsu" song the way the band plays it in the stands...never! i am determined to learn it all, and the only way i will be able to do so is SEE and HEAR someone doing it correctly!

What about wikipedia?

wiki just has the lyrics and a link to hear the song; not someone actually singing it. i feel that i have touched upon the "third rail" of tiger fandom, because i have never admitted (until now) that i can't sing it. i have a feeling there are quite a few other tigers that can't either. i have searched the archives of tiger droppings-- this subject has been talked about in the past. i think it is just a really hard song to sing. if my memory is correct, i think huey long coined the lyrics....he might have been drunk. i just wish there was a link...

Listen here. The band sings it while playing. If you know the words you can follow along.
LINK
If you are meaning the "Like Knights of Old" version, thats gonna be real tough to find someone singing that one.

That's Hey Fightin' Tigers, not the official LSU fight song which is "Fight for LSU." I've been looking around for a recording of the song actually being sung and chicago is right, so far it's eluded me.

Yeah, I've been trying to do this as well. I don't know how the lyrics are supposed to match up with the song.

Itunes has the song.
The lyrics...
hey fightin tigers fight all the way
hey fightin tigers win the game today
you've got the know how, your doin fine
hold onto the ball as you hit the wall and crash right through the line
you've got to go for the touchdown, run up the score
make mike the tiger stand right up and roar
(ROAR)
Give it all your might as you fight tonight and keep the goal in view
VICTORY FOR LSU

Are you talking about the part:
We are the bravest, we are the strongest football team in history? Here's to the glory, here's to the honor, marching onto victory?
Because the rest of the song is at the same tempo as the first verse.

I thought we were talking about "Fight For LSU"
If we are, here's the best I can do as far as rhythm goes via text:
Like Knights of old
Let's fight to hold
The glory
of
the pur-ple gold
Let's carry through
Let's die or do
To win
the game
for dear old L-S-U
Keep trying-
for-
that high score
Come on
and fight
We want
some more
some more
Come on you
Tigers
Fight! Fight! Fight!
For dear old L-S-U!

You have the lyrics posted for Hey Fightin' Tigers. Which is not LSU's Fight Song, thus, the song this guy is looking for.
LSU's fight song is called Fight for LSU. Here are the lyrics to verse one:
quote:
Like Knights of old, Let's fight to hold
The glory of the Purple Gold.
Let's carry through, Let's die or do
To win the game for dear old LSU.
Keep trying for that high score;
Come on and fight,
We want some more, some more.
Come on you Tigers, Fight! Fight! Fight!
for dear old L-S-U.

i am the original poster.....i have the lyrics to FIGHT FOR LSU....and have always known them...the problem is, i can't sing the fight song after the first verse as the band plays it. it is a pretty long song, it is just very hard to read the lyrics (or know them) and sing the song in time with the band. i am trying to find a link or otherwise of someone CLEARLY singing the entire FIGHT FOR LSU song. i don't know a single person that can do it. so, if i can see/hear someone doing it properly, then i could do it.
