I am not sure how much Loston will play against Washington, but I predict that he will be a full-time starter by the third game of the season and will be LSU's second best defensive back on the team behind Patrick Peterson by the end of the season.

With Chad Jones playing his natural position now I highly doubt Loston will be the second best DB on the team by the end of the season. I also doubt that he'll be a full-time starter by the third game of the season. He'll definately receive some playing time as a key reserve in the secondary.

I don't get why so many are critical of DandyDon. Let the guy have an opinion. Damn!

And if Loston really is the starter by the 3rd game, how many of these guys do you think will be on here to compliment him for being dead on, or eating crow for making fun of it?

Small minds, small people.

I love the Don - but I think he's going out on a limb on this one.

I think he just makes shite up. PP didnt even start until like the 9 or 10th game last year and that was with a horrible secondary with 2 corners who had never gotten PT before last year. He thinks Loston is gonna start by the 3rd game with only 2 weeks of fall practice under his belt with chad jones and Danny Mc at FS and Taylor, Brooks, and Hatcher ahead of him at SS?

He also said Hawkins would likely start opp PP which is not what Ive been reading everywhere else, and he says Brooks is still 1st team SS when Taylor has been with the 1st team at SS the last 2-3 weeks.

he has an opinion, and im fairly certain there's nothing i could do to stifle it.

but being the great defender of senile opinions that you are im sure you've never critisized lou holtz the way i critisized dandy...

i mean, gawd, just let lou holtz have an opinion.

Get off his back ....his wife is deathly ill and the man still finds the time to entertain us every morning. let the man think what he wants Loston is a huge talent who may be a starter this year.. who knows??? I doubt it but don't call the man a retard

he broadcasts his opinion every day on the internet. its childish to expect people not to critisize his opinion because of/regardless of the health of his wife.

I read Dandy Don every morning, but what he said about Loston doesn't add up. If there is one spot that we are extremely deep at...it's safety.

Craig Loston is an exceptional talent, but unless we get bit by the injury bug...no way he starts...I hope he redshirts.

Maybe because he can be an over-the-top homer...I totally respect his passion but he sometimes can get a little ahead of himself. Loston has had pads on for, what, four hours and the Dandy is penciling him in at starter for game three? Frankly...I hope he's right cause I want to see Loston returning punts...lot's of them.

I doubt Loston even plays a down during the first three games unless he somehow breaks on to special teams. I could see him getting PT later in the season perhaps, but there are a lot of guys with a lot of practice time ahead of him you don't want your last line of defense back there not sure of what to do.

Sure, he’s an over the top homer, but if you sift through that, he gives pretty good updates for free. You just have to know how to read his updates to cut away the homerism. The guy loves LSU and he provides a valuable service for free. If you don’t like it, don’t read him.

Just read it as: “I think Loston is really, really good”. Is that different from what anyone is saying right now?

If it makes you feel better in life go a head and critize the old fella, I just tend to laugh it off when he come up with over the top opinions. I enjoy reading his site on a daily basis he has some good reading from time to time and even a little LSU history.

why the frick can't I have my opinion of dandydon? I read his post every morning bc it is somewhat insightful and interesting, but at the same time it must be taken with a grain of salt. So many frickin pansies jump on people's shite when they say something about the great dandy one. Yes, i understand his wife is sick and yes I understand that he may read this post, but neither change the fact that he is a homer lsu fan with a blog....

Your making the guys case for him. Is it totally inconceivable that Loston could not outplay Taylor, Brooks, and Hatcher, all guys with little or no experience at the position?

I believe Dandy also predicted that Ratphuc Hobley would also be starting by the 3rd game of the season.
