One of my best friends in high school was a "Brister". His cousin was Bubby Brister. We used to go to Monroe(NLU) every couple of weeks and watch tape, watch practice, and pretty much just get in the way.

One of the things that I heard more times than I care to remember were statements about a qb's "release". Quick and high. Also throwing a catchable ball.

I think that Jarrett Lee will end up being a better pro qb than he has been a college qb. He has all the intangibles, but didn't read defenses well last year. The good news is...reading defenses can be learned. But every time I see him throw the ball, it reminds me of all the times I heard "quick" release.

His release reminds me of John Elway's and Tony Romo's release. Not comparing him to them, but they are very similar. I think that Jarrett Lee may end up being a better "pro" qb than Tim Tebow, Colt McCoy, and that kid from Oklahoma.

Maybe Jamarcus Russell should have played like shite at LSU like Jarrett Lee and more fans would love him.

When he set an NCAA record for interceptions returned for touchdowns? JR had 9 tds and 4 ints as a freshman what a bum.

it's always good when the QB knows how to throw the ball away instead of getting sacked

It is...unless while trying to throw it away he hits an opposing linebacker in stride with it who takes it to the house.

Then, not so good.

or instead of standing in the pocket and taking the sack, they hurry the throw and get it picked off

I wouldn't necessarily say that JL threw the ball away.

I last heard that you get drafted based on your performance
