After last year's beatdown in the Swamp and recent history between these two teams and what the game has meant, I am thinking that bulletin board material will not be needed for our Tigahs.

With that said, Urb is correct. We call ourselves a great fanbase, which we are, but if the team gets down early, all of a sudden the fans are sitting on their hands and quiet.

I don't see how this could be bulletin board material for the players. Hell, print out what Urban said on pamphlets and hand them out at the gates to the fans.

Seriously, though. The swamp got real quiet last year when we made it 20-13. Every UF fan near us were sitting on their hands except one who kept screaming and at us.

I'm not going to read the seven pages of posts on this, but I would be really surprised if Urban said something like that pointedly about TS. If it were some general statement then perhaps so. Otherwise, that's pretty Kiffinish.

But if it is assumed he did:
1) If I'm not mistaken, TS is on record as reaching a louder volume than the Swamp.
2) Maybe he could explain why Tebow hit his own player in the head with the ball which led to an interception while UF was still ahead in '07.
3) Maybe the press should ask him how loud it was when Hester scored?
4) Maybe he should refrain from such comments about a place he's never won in.

Today's Tiger fans are soft and spoiled. If thier tigers fall a couple of TDs down, the fans in the stands fold up like a lawn chair and STFU.

Reminds me of 2000 when someone from Tennessee criticized Tiger Stadium - that was an awesome game.

I am calling BS on this one. No way Urban trash talks like Lane Kiffin on arguably UF's toughest opponent all season. It's just not plausible.

You sir, are spouting off, making crap up just to smear Urban Meyer. Go find something real to diss him on - but not this weak-arse phony baloney.

the fact that he even said this tells alot about how hard a time he has when we are up in a game. our fans get back in it pretty damn quick too.

A couple of thoughts on this thread, which I thoroughly enjoyed reading...

1) The stadium isn't as consistently loud as it used to be, especially last year. I think there are several reasons for this.

a) The students are a bunch of prima-donna pussies. Let's face it. Today's students are too used to winning. I recall the Georgia game this past year that place was silent for the entire game....the entire game....because of what happened on our first possession. It was pathetic.

b) Day games. CBS kinda ruined the vibe last year. I am glad that they are picking up many of our games this year. I hate CBS. I know LSU probably love$ CBS, but I hate them.

c) We sucked.

That said...the fans had some good moments last year.

When we blocked that fg to send the Bama to OT....it got pretty crazy.

The few of us who stayed behind in the cold to watch us come back and beat Troy....you could look around and see the satisfaction in every fans' eyes that was still there......everybody had this "wait until I get outta here and rub it into so-and-so's face who left early" look.

2) About Urban Meyer

a) Everybody knows he is a douche. The entire country recognizes this except for Florida fans and the media, who seem to love him. What should you expect from a douche? Douchey comments.

b) Urban should STFU and win a game here before spouting off like that. Not smart. Why give us bulletin board material? As if we needed any more motivation to get up for this game.....
