Can you be a fan and not want your team to win?

Can you secretly love being the loveable losers rather than be spoiled by success and just have too high of expectations and not be happy with the little gems anymore of success every now and then. Is winning a trophy worth being spoiled the rest of our franchise?
Weird thought... just to ponder. To keep in relative... LSU football is now spoiled. Unless we're winning the championship or playing a bcs game... everything is a let down and just isn't good enough. NO joy in playing in the peach bowl anymore!
Also wanted to add, sometimes you cherish the role of the underdog.

I know what you're saying. The Saints just don't feel like the Saints when they're winning. I miss drinking beer with my friends and yelling at the TV while Reuben Mayes gets obliterated. Now we have this thing called "hope." It just doesn't sit well with me.

There's a part of me that wouldn't mind if LSU tanked a year or two then got right back to the point of winning just so the bandwagoners would possibly give up their season tickets and I could possibly get some, but ultimately I'd be miserable for that year or two.

I don't know anybody like that, but I'd imagine there could be a couple. Reminds me of the Cleveland fans from the movie Major League.

i actively cheered against the Saints for the entire Ditka era and refused to attend a single game. I thought it was a joke of a hire, and wanted him to lose every single game so we could get rid of him sooner and begin the process of becoming a real franchise.
I still haven't fully warmed back up to the Saints, even though they are without a doubt my favorite NFL team.
