It will be the first time a current big East member will have played LSU in Baton Rouge since January 3rd, 1898.

so you're saying it's been a few years.

Nice!! Hope they have a great year this year.

I hope those Mountaineer fans don't intimidate any Tiger fans. I've heard WVU fans know how to throw a party and can be pretty damn intimidating.

As long as nobody leaves a couch in the middle of the street somewhere for them to set on fire we should be fine.

They are pretty hard core... I have been to WV and there isn't much other than football and drinking to do. I respect how hard they party and I believe they will respect how hard we party.

Not to take issue with you but there is tons of stuf to do in West Virginia. White Water Rafting, Fishing, hunting and if your bored walk outside and look at the mountains. Better than Ouachita Parish or Lafyette Parish IMO.

I hope that WVU is still pretty good by then. They took a freefall in Bill Stewart's first full season, going from the BCS to the Meineke CarCare Bowl. Now that Pat White has left, I wouldn't expect too much from them this season.

You're stupid.

White Water Rafting
on the New River and Gauley River is bad arse. The Upper Gauley in the fall is one of the 10 hardest rivers in the world.
The dreaded Class V+ rapid "Pillow Rock"
New River Valley is absolutely stunning too. I believe it is on the back of their state quarter.
People bungee jump and base jump from that bridge.

Your right...West Virginia has some of the best white water rafting in the states

WV rafting is definatley awesome, and if you get a chance, try and rent a cabin out in the woods for a few nights and do some hiking, it really is gorgeous. But Morgantown is a no holds barred sh*t hole. Don't be fooled by their monorail. That place sucks bad.

Ok.. agree with the posts about the mountains, rivers, rafting and outdoors. In fact that is why I went. But IMO those are not things that you do everyday and not a reason for me personally to choose to live somewhere. The friends I have from WV are good people and love being from there... but they left looking for bigger and better things. I am not looking for a beef here. JMO.

That's a great stat. I hope their fans are as awesome as the Virigina Techs fans were. I had a newfound respect for VT after that game.

Morgantown and the surrounding area is beautiful (less a poor excuse for student housing named Grant Avenue).
I think there are many similarities between WVU and LSU. I worked up in the Morgantown area as an architect for about 2.5 years (2002-2004). It was a nice area. From what I remember, the city limits had a population of about 30,000. In reality, the city is about 110-120k people with 30k in students 9 months of the year. I found it to be around the size of Lafayette. It has a older but upscale downtown with fairly nice stores and shopping (my wife used to frequent the boutiques with designer clothes, much to the detriment of my pocket book).
As far as WVU football, it was insanity most of the time. Very passionate fans. If you were with them, they treat you like gold. If not, don't ask. They used to play a lot of night games from what I had heard, but the school got away from that because of the excessive partying (more akin to a riot-like atmosphere from what I saw), unless they have an exclusive deal for a night game on ESPN or the like. If there was one other team in the country I would really enjoy seeing join the SEC, it would be WVU. Although they are a little more north than the conference would likely support, they would fit in well. Coming from watching the SEC for 15 years, WVU has the athletic talent and more than enough team speed to compete at a high level in the SEC. Their fans are passionate like most SEC teams and have an electric stadium as well.
I can recommend to stay off of an area of the town named Grant Avenue. That place is student central and a hellhole. It was like Animal House but if people found out you were from another school they treated you like a criminal.
All in all, I'm a native down here, so I prefer this area. But, if I had to move back to one of the former areas I used to do business (Kennesaw,GA-Grand Rapids, MI-Omaha, NE-Morgantown, WV), it would be Morgantown. If you have some time in the area, check out Seneca Rocks (camping/hiking/scenic) or Cheat Lake (watersports).
That being said, I'm calling an early score of LSU 24-17.

Someone needs to show their fans how to eat too. Their food sucks for the most part (outside of some pretty good Italian). It's like eating chalk.
