StraightCashHomey21, did you ever go around that Grant Avenue area when you were in Morgantown? That place was crazy (the one time I drove down through there). Looked like a straight hellhole though. I actually used to work out at a Rec Center of WVU. It was near the basketball dome. I wish we would have had something even remotely like that at LSU when I was there.
re: So Why Are So Many People Bailing Out On The Seattle Trip ?

Seattle is boring. Their idea of fun is sitting outside on the patio of a Starbucks on a typically gloomy, misty Seattle day. The trip to Morgantown in 2011 will be much more interesting.

StraightCashHomey21, do you live in WV? If so, what part? When I lived up there for a project assignment I rented a townhouse out in the Cheat Lake area.

That game will be a slug fest. WVU's teams are traditionally fast and hit hard, not unlike SEC teams. However, they typically are not quite as big on the D-line or O-line as SEC schools. Our fans and their fans are both the best college football has to offer. I am excited for this game. Much more so than Washington this year.

I like our QB situation vs. WVU's for 2010. JJ will still be here. WVU will have a new QB (I believe their QB is a senior). New QB with no experience in Tiger Stadium? Welcome to the jungle...

With the help of google, I think I just found a couple of their on-line stomping grounds. I just joined this board. May be fun to jump in theirs and stir the pot

The folks down near Marshall (forget the town...it's in southern West Virginia) are more folksy. Morgantown is more like a smaller version of Pittsburgh. That being said, their food really sucks. An Elmer's Glue sandwich would taste on par with most of their food.

Someone needs to show their fans how to eat too. Their food sucks for the most part (outside of some pretty good Italian). It's like eating chalk.

Loston looked like a stud on tape. Hopefully he gets on board soon.

What's going on with Loston? He looked impressive on tape.

What kind of injury does Loston have? I saw tape on him. He looked impressive.

I met a lot of folks from the Conyers, Georgia area that looked like that!

Morgantown and the surrounding area is beautiful (less a poor excuse for student housing named Grant Avenue).
I think there are many similarities between WVU and LSU. I worked up in the Morgantown area as an architect for about 2.5 years (2002-2004). It was a nice area. From what I remember, the city limits had a population of about 30,000. In reality, the city is about 110-120k people with 30k in students 9 months of the year. I found it to be around the size of Lafayette. It has a older but upscale downtown with fairly nice stores and shopping (my wife used to frequent the boutiques with designer clothes, much to the detriment of my pocket book).
As far as WVU football, it was insanity most of the time. Very passionate fans. If you were with them, they treat you like gold. If not, don't ask. They used to play a lot of night games from what I had heard, but the school got away from that because of the excessive partying (more akin to a riot-like atmosphere from what I saw), unless they have an exclusive deal for a night game on ESPN or the like. If there was one other team in the country I would really enjoy seeing join the SEC, it would be WVU. Although they are a little more north than the conference would likely support, they would fit in well. Coming from watching the SEC for 15 years, WVU has the athletic talent and more than enough team speed to compete at a high level in the SEC. Their fans are passionate like most SEC teams and have an electric stadium as well.
I can recommend to stay off of an area of the town named Grant Avenue. That place is student central and a hellhole. It was like Animal House but if people found out you were from another school they treated you like a criminal.
All in all, I'm a native down here, so I prefer this area. But, if I had to move back to one of the former areas I used to do business (Kennesaw,GA-Grand Rapids, MI-Omaha, NE-Morgantown, WV), it would be Morgantown. If you have some time in the area, check out Seneca Rocks (camping/hiking/scenic) or Cheat Lake (watersports).
That being said, I'm calling an early score of LSU 24-17.
