Here we go again with the meaningless, useless Sugar Bowl ever played. Who cares. Momentum? Dont pronounce Bama dead just yet. We'll see. By the way, I actually have LSU going 6-6.
Losses to
Washington-upset city

FLorida-c'mon guys

Georgia-Wont happen in Athens
Ole-MIss-Again just better

Alabama-Bama hasnt won in Ttown since 1999. The players want that moneky off their back and are openly discussing that 10 year drought has to end and they are very tired of the fans saying they havent beaten LSU at home in 10 years. Similar ro Auburn last year, just not quite as intense.

Bowl game-Its just time for Miles to lose one. The numbers, or odds thing catches you eventually.

that is the worst logic i've ever seen. don't worry bama once tech beats you'll come back to reality. i love how the sugar bowl became "meaningless" AFTER you lost to utah.

I agree that the outcome of the Sugar Bowl has no real bearing on anything to come this year...however, you can't just blow off a BCS game as meaningless. Champions don't just say 'frick It' after losing a game.

What do LSU, LaTECH and UL-Monroe have in common? They've both beaten Alabama.

We have about as much a chance of losing to Washington as ULA-Monroe beating Alabama. Oops I forgot.

Get ready for the Saban clunker, he throws them out from time to time, say want you want about Miles but he has never lost to a directional school. Like UAB or ULA-Monroe like Saban. With far superior teams each time.

Dandy Don said this morning "Saban & Miles are not the best of friends". I'm not throwing stones here, but am I missing some underlying issues besides the obvious over the past few years?

I agree that season-ending Bowl Games are not THE tell-tale sign of an upcoming season but if you think it doesn't make a difference to win vs. lose that last game of the season you've must've never experienced an off-season with a team that has.

Also, if you think LSU goes 6-6 you obviously aren't aware of the talent we've assembled. I believe we'll shock the CFB world this year but flying under the radar right now is fine by me.

I have been seeing this used as an excuse for Bama all offseason. "Players didn't care after getting knocked out of the national championship game" "Couldn't get up for playing a lowly team like Utah". To me, if a team can't get up for a bowl game, let alone a BCS bowl game, that is the sign of a shitty coach. I think Saban is a great coach, but if Bama fans want to use this argument, then it is not a good indicator of Saban's coaching prowess.

More typical Gump horseshite. If they'd won that game, then they would have claimed it solidified their position as #2, since their only loss would have been to Florida. But since they got their asses handed to them by a mid major, then the game was meaningless and useless.

Some people around here need to take off their P&G glasses and put down their new P&G Bud Light Cans.

Bama and LSU are both primed to battle it out for the SEC West for the next 5-10 years without something dramatic happening. You can't prove otherwise.

The OP actually changed the title of the article--which is somewhat misleading.

All the article states is that Alabama and LSU finished their seasons on different notes--LSU with an impressive win--Bama with a pretty humiliating loss.

Everybody knows Bama will be tough.

But to say the Sugar Bowl doesn't mean anything--plus some of the other insanity?

Please.

I think Bama will have a frustrating year much like LSU had last season. New QB, lost some key faces, and even while at LSU Saban was always an 'every other year' sort of coach.
