I'll go with the top 5 since I've been watching football (1988).
1. 1/4/04. LSU wins the national title.
2. 1/7/08. LSU wins the national title.
3. 12/8/01. LSU wins the SEC title for the first time in 13 years.
4. 9/16/95. LSU beats #5 Auburn in Dinardo's first home game. "The Magic Is Back!" I'm in the minority when I say that this is the greatest game of any sport I've ever seen.
5. 9/30/00. LSU beats Tennessee in the first overtime game in Tiger Stadium history.

Blue Grass Miracle = greatest play in LSU history

1-3 NC games.
4 Billy Cannon run (TS has experienced nothing like it since then).
5 Ole Myth game when we ran two plays in the last 5 seconds and scored on the last play of the game to win.
Until the late 1980's nearly all great moments in Tiger football involved beating Ole Myth. From the mid-1950's until about 1990, they were our arch-rival. Then, both teams became irrelevant in the 1990's, followed by our renewal about 2000! Ole Myth still is irrelevant.

to what calls are you referring?

To me, all of them happened in the 07 championship season. So much drama and exitement both on and off the field.

Yeah that is clear footage LSU92, that is a false start by a mile. I was just born when this game happened and heard this story about how LSU got robbed, but have never seen the game, and man did they ever get robbed.

Glad you liked the footage. Notice the announcers did not even mention the false start.

Ya gotta put The Year That Pigs Flew in 'Bama in there somewhere and there's no way that the '66 Cotton Bowl ain't included.
For you youngsters, LSU was 7-3 going into that game with Arky who was ranked #2 and riding a 22 game winning streak with a chance to move into #1 after the top ranked team lost earlier.
LSU was riddled with injuries, lost Nelson Stokely during the game and a gimpy Pat Screen relieved him. Little Joe LaBruzzo behind lg Dave McCormick dominated the Arky right side and gave LSU one of the all-time great upsets of college fb, 14-7.
Was without a doubt Cholly Mac's finest hour!
I'd rank those Cotton Bowl #1, WPF #2, LSU 28 ND 8 #3, LSU 14, OM (#1 at the time) 0 1960 #4 and then the '03 NC.
The NC's and other games mentioned are great but these 5 in the magnitude for their significance on the national scene are unparalleled.

quote:I love bringing this up to my Arky friends not only because of the LSU upset, but because this game is indicative of how overrated Arkansas was in the 1960's. They say they ruled college football at the time, and it's bullshite, frankly. Here was their schedule every year:
'66 Cotton Bowl
Texas*
Texas A&M*
Cupcake*
Cupcake*
Cupcake*
Cupcake*
Cupcake*
Cupcake*
Tulsa
1AA team
(* denotes SWC game)
Basically they had a game and a half per year, went 9-1 or 10-0 and then got raped in a bowl (they went 2-6 in bowls in the 1960's.).
Goddammit I hate Arkansas.
