Haven't seen it. But everyone on this board hates Tom Cruise. So you won't get very objective reviews here.

not a huge Cruise fan either, but the plot seems interesting enough.

What's defiance all about?

it's meh I thought there would be more shooting and fighting in it, so it kinda left me disappointed.

Worth renting? Yes.

It could have been so much more than it was but it was still a solid B in my opinion.

I liked it. Not spectacular, but if you like history, it's definitely entertaining. Apparently, it's really accurate too

You would be well served do 15 minutes of research on the actual story before you watch it though, since the film gives basically no explanation as to why what is happening is happening. It just jumps right into the assasination plot and doesn't focus on the "why"

I like Tom Cruise and don't care about the lack of authentic accents but I still found it sorely lacking. Is it terrible? No, but I have no plans to ever watch it again.

If you can't figure out a "why" on your own without someone having to tell you, then you my friend are an idiot.

P.S. I like history and thought the movie was pretty good. Definitely a "B"

I don't even know where to start with this except to say GFY

if you think von Stauffenberg's reasoning/justification was made obvious by that film then I don't know what you were watching. The character of von Stauffenberg shouldn't be summed up into a two sentence voice-over at the beginning the way this film attempted to do. With the way the movie was made, most people in the theater thought that vS's reasoning for risking his and his family's lives was that he was mad about his face getting blown off (not true) or that vS's only motivation was because of Hitler's treatment of the Jews (true, but very much incomplete). The film did a lousy job of exploring the "why" in this sense with a character that obviously had much to lose

When a movie is historically accurate like this one is, we don't have to (and shouldn't) figure it out on our own. Instead, we should look it up and get the actual truth instead of making assumptions. Anybody that "likes history" should know that

I thought it was pretty good. The lack of action didn't bother me at all, because the movie was about an assassination plot which, obviously, doesn't warrant a ton of action other than the completion of the plot itself.

I do wish they would have at least tried German accents, but it didn't detract from the movie much unless you're a hardcore historian who wants everything perfectly accurate.

As has been said, probably a B for the movie.
