Is it a home and home or is it a nuetral sites?

I think this was dropped, by mutual agreement. Some kind of conflict, but it might have been rescheduled.

Isnt it in 18-19 schedules?
Posted on 7/2/09 at 3:54 pm to schulte
It might be, but I don't think they have schedules posted that are that far out.

Well, we're playing ASU in 2015-2016 and 2016-2017.
LINK
But, our football team seems to be taking a two year break in 2013-2014 and 2014-2015.
That sucks.

This series was lip service to quiet people who were pissed about other games that were subbed out to more Sun Belt teams or La Tech. It was never going to happen. Just propaganda.

This is exactly correct. As I recall we were slated to play Houston in 04. LSU bumped them in order to play Ark St, whom we were scheduled to play in 05. They then replaced Ark St in 05 with N Texas or Appy, can't remember which. Now Houston is no great shakes, but I'd rather play them than any of the aforementioned.
But they announced this switch in fine print below the "LSU Signs Deal With OU" headline. The OU deal was especially exciting since we had just gotten through playing them in the NC. Never mind that the series wouldn't be played until late in this decade, which has since been pushed to late in the NEXT decade.
It always makes me chuckle when LSU talks about how hard schedules are to change, yet they make changes like I described earlier all the freaking time.

I just hope that LSU trying to get out of the Tulane series as Alleva alluded to last week, is not to simply have more opportunities for Sun Belt type teams to come to TS for a payday, but I fear it is.

recapping this thread....
the LSU-OU series was all a Jedi mind trick?

Amen, brutha. But I don't ever remember them getting out of one game for a higher quality opponent. Usually it's to play some schlub team from whom they can get more money. I understand the money thing, but once they started winning and games became a guaranteed sellout, fans went directly to the bottom of the priority list.

"This was not the team you were looking to play. The team you want to play is in the Sun Belt Conference."

I want to play Michigan.

Yeh, from what my sources are telling me, we will be spending those funds trying to get our damn strong tennis teams and damn strong golf teams national championships during those years, so football will have to be dropped to do that- "casualty of the ongoing economic crisis"

Its doubtful that Michigan wants to play LSU.

Such a shame...
I can't believe Skip would do this!?

I thought Houston backed out of the game so they could play OU?

Oregon State replaced Virginia Tech, which asked to postpone its visit to Baton Rouge until the 2007 season.
That didn't really work out so well for them afterall...

Houston asked LSU to let them out with no cash penalty. Since it was only six months before the season, LSU agreed only if they could find an equal quality opponent....and we got Ark St. Not very equal but still a sell out so Skip was fine with that.

I sure hope that it wasn't a jedi mind trick. Guess I'll wait to hear from somebody on the inside of the football program...
