re: How hard was it to get tickets at Omaha?

I bought tickets on game day for all 3 games.
Game 1: Had 2 at $30 each down the 1st base line, but those are crappy seats looking right into the sun and it was HOT... so I kept looking and got 2 great tickets for $25 each (below face) behind 3rd base. An LSU fan sold them to me and my son and I was glad. Turned around and sold those 1st base pair for $30 each and went it.
Game 2: Paid $75 each from a ticket broker midday so I would not have to look before the game. $75 each. In the grandstand behind home plate. I would up with 2 extra and couldn't give them away.
Game 3: Friend I was tailgating with had a local Omaha friend who couldn't come. Got 2 great seats about 8 rows off the field behind 3rd base for face value, $27.

Not many reserved flying around outside the stadium but easily avail on stubhub. We rode out GA for last ark game and all 3 champ games. GA tix were everywhere for $10 ea...prob is we had to get out there at 1pm each day to get close in left field...and let me tell u it was friggin HOT. With that said, GA is easily avail and we drove to Omaha ticketless and easily got tix. U have to stand in line forever though bec in theory they can sell unlimited GA tix...they just let in 5500 then they close it off.

Next time, if they do it the same way, ticketmaster sells face-value championship game tickets for facevalue ($27) for games one and two 30 minutes after the game that ends that determines who plays for the championship. If there is a split in the series and a game 3 is necessary, they sell facevalue tickets 30 minutes after game two ends. FWIW. I had no trouble getting tickets
Not sure how other games work via ticketmaster.

In theory yes. We talked to people that were denied entry to the texas/az st game friday. That's why if u decide to go GA u need to be in line at least 4 hrs before game time

indeed. The GENADM tix are good for ANY game throughout the college world series. There are thousands and thousands of those things printed up. Apparently that UT/Ari St. game was the only game where people got turned away though...from what I was told at least.

waited in line for about 16 hours total to attend 3 games. It was worth it, but still didnt get ideal seats.
the system they use is horrible.

There are some tickets available at the box office each day for that day's games. Office opens at 10 for days with afternoon games, noon for days with only evening games. You need to get there early and stand in line. And then there aren't many tickets available. Supposedly, they have tickets "turned back in" (by other teams, or season ticket holders, I don't know...) I've never managed to get any that way, they go fast.
For the first 12 games, Ticketmaster sold 1000 reserved seats back in about March or April. At that point, you have no clue who will be playing much less the match-ups. Just dates and times. Those were gone within an hour or so of the time they went on sale. That's how I got tickets to 3 games. Two sets were in Section A, right in the sun, breeze blocked by the Stadium club, and sun reflecting off that glass. Holy Mother Of God, it was hot, and I'm FROM this area, I know what hot is! The other set was in section X, spitting distance from lf GA. Not so miserably hot, but too far away to have a prayer of seeing the ball.

I look at it this way it all depends on how you want to spend your money. If your on a tight budget you can buy a book of 10 GA tickets from local supermarkets for $70 that saves you $20. The down side to GA tickets is waiting in line and there is the chance you might not get in. This year was odd on the GA side. The opening weekend games where packed. There was a lot of people left out side not getting in. The reset of the games there where no issues that I could see. If you get a GA ticket you can sit in empty rev. seats.
Buying tickets from a scalper is a art of negotiation. You start way low and most the time you can get tickets from $10 to $20 over face value. This year was again odd they where selling championship tickets face value or just a little over.
Non the less there are tickets out there for every game just depends on what you want to spend and where you want to sit.

Easy. We got GA tickets up there, but I bought them ahead since it was the ship series. In hindsight, would have just waited.

A friend of mine came up, and got a seat for $5 behind home plate for the championship game. Said he had no problem for last 4 games.

I had seats behind the plate in the upper deck for championship series. No lines, no waiting, paid up for them but was worth it.

People couldn't give away general admission tickets. If you wanted a good seat, they were available if you waited it out at the gate. I got my excellent seats from the NCAA for face value $33. Texas fans who sat next to me paid scalper $100!!! For anybody considering going when LSU makes it next year, all I can say is GEAUX!!!!!

Work the crowd, go early and later, we averaged 35/dollars a ticket for the final three games, three tickets/game. Sat under the grandstand, behind the LSU bench all three games. 2/3'rds way up, but great seats, just gotta work the crowd and don't buy from scalpers. They mostly sell crap seats.

we looked, but decided to get in line early to upgrade to ensure tickets...plus we had a group of 5, and its hard to find 5 together with scalpers.
needless to say, we thought we learned our lesson each day, and got there earlier each day, because Day 1 we waited, got there about 8am, and couldnt get 2 seats together. All 5 were obstructed view. Went at 7:30 the next day, and waited in line for TX/USM tickets and got to the front and they sold out. Then game 3 we went about 6:50, on a Monday, when it was raining, and still only got obstructed view tickets.
at that point after that, i would have paid just about anything to not wait in line. It was draining,
