If you are staying at a hotel ask the concierge.

sadly, you guys are more helpful than the people at this hotel. (the hotel is great; however, the workers are not so much)

thanks, but that would require me to walk a couple blocks, stand in line at the apple store in order to maybe get an iphone, but thanks.

Tulane---looking up zushi puzzle...looks promising but far (as you said).

R and G lounge for lunch or dinner we went for lunch...the big crab was ok but the rest was great, lots of "locals"...when we go back we would let the waiter/waitress order for us... they have a website i would definetly go back when we visit...fwiw

There is a great sushi place across from the Crowne Plaza, near the entrance to the side or rear lot, it's small and in the middle of the block, if walking uphill on the left. Can't recall the name but you can't miss it.

Ozuma is a great sushi spot. I was there a few weeks back and was very impressed.

Also check out a Venetian place called Del Flora on Columbus Street. My favorite meal of many great meals out there.

yep, hitting up texas next week....ain't got nothing on stro and mrs. arse though.

Thanks for all of the ideas, will DEFINITELY keep them in mind for the next trip. Sadly, i failed miserably on food for this trip (IMO).....

Had Houston's on Embarcadero one day for lunch and it was pretty damn good. Guess I'll have to just get my sushi fix in town.

ok so I guess im probably way too late for advice but I spent a year in SF and in that time developed a healthy addiction to sushi.

First off, union square is possibly one of the most tourist areas of SF so any sushi that you find in the area will be the kind that rides around the restaurant in a little boat and will not be any good.

I agree that Zushi Puzzle is one of the best places to go. They have really fresh fish and great rolls.

The freshest fish in San Francisco is at Kabuto on Geary Blvd between 15th and 16th ave. This place is spectacular but it would be really far from you as it is nowhere near downtown.

Another place that I liked a lot when I was there was called Ace Wasabi in the marina district(very close to downtown and also a cool place to visit for the nightlife). Its one of the more trendy sushi bars where all of the young folk hang out before they go get drunk at the many marina bars. They had more americanized rolls but what they served was still a lot better than anything I got outside of california.

Also, for a really good lunch you should go to Pacific Catch (also in the Marina). Be sure to order the tuna poke, it is the best poke that I have ever tasted and the one thing that I still crave the most after moving away.
