Just seeing if anyone knew of any good accounting jobs in the BR area. I have about 5 years experience doing pretty much everything in accounting except Audit.

You do realize that like 70 percent of the jobs are in audit right? Have you just been doing tax or advisory or what?

You probably would have had better luck during tax season. My friend works for a CPA firm that hired several people earlier this year. My company is looking for an Internal Auditor at the moment but requires audit experience. Good luck

You have been doing accounting work, but are you a CPA? If so, have you beeinvolved in any business valuation projects? What has been and what will continue to be a very hot speciality in accounting is forensic accounting, which includes business valuation and many other disciplines. Most of the larger local/regional accounting firms have increased the size of their dispute resolution practices so think about it. I am a Big 4 audit manager and know about the industry.

I've been in a public tax practice for 25 years. The pay is good, the work schedule is flexible outside of tax season, no hassles from coworkers, very little travel, high degree of job security.

I think it is a good job for an accountant and I would recommend it to new graduates.
