All my engi friends a few years out, even the ones with advanced engi degrees, are going for their MBA or taking the LSAT

Is that to get into a different business or to further their education and use both engineering and business knowledge in their current industry?

I'm definitely planning on getting my MBA because you need the business knowledge to run a company, but the engineering undergrad degree gets you working at more than decent pay immediately, unlike a business degree.

I don't think that's necessarily true, you just have to be a lot more proactive about finding internships with a business degree if you want to match the starting pay of a typical engineering job. At least, with the people that I know, that's been the case. Both are good degrees and solid fields of work.
