That Rice ballclub is incredible and yet we man-handled them

Outside of the errors from a couple freshman in their first SR, Ranuado was on fire and the bats dusted up a killer #2 guy pretty early.

My head says no, but my heart said the regional ended with Schimpf's HR.

Today's game will be a monster.

Rendon, Seastrunk and Sultzberg are MLBers as well as Perry today on the mound. It's a damn shame Rice wasn't paired with Oklahoma or TCU.

I cannot believe that our second string team would make a SuperRegional too... Landry, Helenihi, Ochinko, Jones.... wow.

Hate to see what would have happened if we played well

To win inspite of the mistakes and Ranuado not pitching great shows just how good these young men really are. I believe LSU is the best team in the Super Regionals. Remember the best team does not always win, BUT, I believe we are going to win no matter what it takes! Because---
WE ARE LSU, WE ARE LSU, WE ARE LSU, WE ARE LSU, WE ARE LSU, WE ARE LSU, WE ARE LSU, WE ARE LSU,

keep in mind their pitcher last nite is injured, and if you be even the tiniest bit honest with yourself...he looked it

Well over half his strikes were balls we swung at. If we are patient against Berry and make him throw strikes...another double digit barrage awaits.

WWIW - 8 of our runs came after he was out of the game and the 3 run homer was given up by Rice's best LHP.

He said he didn't have his best stuff last night.

Of course he would say that. His "changeup was on" would've been the obvious answer had he shut us out over 7.

Typical Wayne Graham coached response there, JS. Don't give too much credit to your opponent and try to keep the upper hand.

I was talking about Ranaudo in response to this...

I'm assuming you mean Berry.

It would have been great to have seen Ojala healthy on the mound. He's about -6 MPH on the fastball, but it was fun to watch the guy pitch backwards for the entire game. That changeup is a completely new development.

Honestly, if he would have been throwing his usual 90-92, LSU might have had an easier time with him. You just have to think that UCL tear is affecting the feel of his pitches.

Rice really shouldn't use the injury excuse. Nobody forced them to pitch the guy.

Show me a quote where they are using it as an excuse.

It just seems that some of the Rice fans have mentioned that he was injured. I understand that and if it affected his ability than he should not have pitched.

Nobody else really could have. Wall is their #3 guy and he barely recorded an out.

Their bullpen isn't just suspect, it's bad.
