Do you think his Tonight Show act will be as off the wall? I'm thinking he may have to be a little more main stream in an earlier time slot. Oh I'm sure he will do the string dance the first night but some of his humor is really out there.

What say you?

He will be toned down. If ratings slip at all they will dumb him down until he is a shell of the old Conan.

I mean we already know there will be no masturbating Bear at 10:30.

What next? Will they take away Manatee porn?

As mentioned they will have to dumb him down for main stream America. He will still be the best they have ever had in that time slot IMO. I probably will start watching the tonight show for the first time in years.

Easy killer. Carson was the best ever. Conan doesn't have half the interviewing improvisational skills of Carson.

He's gradually been getting more and more mainstream through the years. If you haven't watched his show in the past 5 years, I'm sure it will seem like he's completely sold out.

I liked Carson a lot when I was younger. I used to watch every night when I was out of school for the summer. I personally like Conan better though. Honestly if he had Andy Ricter come back as the side kick, I think the show would be even better. Andy was perfect with the comments during interviews.

Andy is back. Andy will be his announcer/sidekick.... and max and the band are back.

I think this show is gonna be money. Their new set looks awesome and conan's gonna get some solid guest.

It'll take a little while, but he'll come into form soon enough.

It will be different than Late Night, but I think this move may energize Conan and we may see some of his best stuff ever.

Andy is not back as sidekick. He will not be on the couch. He will be used in sketch comedy and pre-taped bits.

Actually I saw an interview with him where he said sometimes he'll be on the couch, sometimes he'll be at the announcer's podium. But honestly, why does it matter if he's sitting on the couch or not, he'll still be the sidekick.

Well I am looking forward to something new on the tonight show and would actually enjoy him reigning it in a bit. Dave is already out in left field and Conan is pretty witty. Should be fun.

Also, i think the 9:00 central time slot for Jay will go over well. Really not much "new" on TV these days so something old may seem new in that time slot.

I just dont get the fascination with conan....i dont find him the least bit funny but that is a matter of taste. His interview skills are absolutely horrible of which there is no debate..His guests always seem uncomfortable as to how awkward the interview goes..

I think that Conan will do fine. He's been counted out since '93, and he's muscled through. Instead of simply being "toned down", I think you'll see him morphing a bit as he finds his legs in the new time slot. He's already stated that he won't be changing his interviewing style or his personal brand of humor. IIRC, the masturbating bear was retired a year ago. He'll be okay.

Sometimes I think Conan is too witty for the guest, and that is why they seem uncomfortable. I think it's great.

He was a writer for the Simpsons and Saturday Night Live when those shows were good. Do you find those shows were at one point funny?

I think the strange self degrading comments that spur awkward moments are comedy gold.
