I just watched the Heart of Geauxld DVD and forgot all about that game. The OT call, going for the 2 point conversion. As a coach, I have to say the "Quick Slant" to Byrd made no sense. The DB telegraphed it and jumped the route. The endzone made the field much smaller. I would have had a jumbo package and play-actioned to Hester and hit Dickson in the endzone.

It upsets me too - if I dwell on it. You know the 4th and 10 for Arky and they convert. I'm done thinking about it.

LSU ran that play every 4th down or 2 point conversion attempt that game but like one. Arkansas finally figured it out.

The holding call on Hester.. (or was it Helms?) when he didn't even block a player..

Doucet's ineligible man downfield penalty on that long TD pass to Hester in the 4th was a killer.

At the time of that game, we had just blew the National Championship.....we just got lucky as hell to get a second chance

It was terrible, had we not gotten lucky it would have been the worst lost ever

+1. I was oddly OK with that. We did not deserve to win after that game. Glad we got another chance.

The most infuriating aspect of that game was Pelini's pathetic passive bullshite scheme at defending the Wildcat.
