Interesting , they have us as a 2 national seed which I like and agree with , I don't like having a target on our back at 1. Also interesting they have Tulane making it instead of Southern Miss BA

Analysis at the bottom:
quote:

It’s a toss-up between Texas and LSU for the No. 1 overall seed. Both teams won regular-season and tournament titles in power conferences, but Texas gets the ever-so-slight nod because of a slightly higher RPI. The other debate in the top eight is who gets the last national seed. It’s tough to overlook Florida’s 24-18 record against top-50 RPI teams, but Rice gets the edge based on a stronger performance in its conference tournament.

No me. You want a #3 who will definitely force the #2 to throw their top pitcher. Tulane is about a weak a #3 as there is.

I can't see an argument for Tulane over USM.

Only argument would be that Tulane finished ahead of USM in the CUSA regular season. But USM has a higher RPI and did better in the conference tourney. I agree that USM should get in ahead of Tulane.

I never understood the "Target on the back" thing. It's now a do or die situation. Every team is gunning for the team they are playing at the moment. There is very little consideration for "We are playing LSU. Let's play REALLY well"

Teams that think like that go home early.

Nice post from this arse hat...I’m glad you picked Texas as the #1 overall as opposed to LSU. Vandy was definitely the better team in the SEC tourney, even though they lost the final (after beating LSU earlier in the tournament). LSU kept trying to let them back in the game when they should’ve been sealing the deal.

About the only consistent thing most all "projectors" and LSU fans can agree on is,
LSU will be playing Southern at 1 pm Friday.
Bummer. Send Southern somewhere else. Everytime they make the NCAA tournament, they get sent to the LSU regional as a #4 seed. Mix it up NCAA.

there is someone with ties to toolame that works for BA. goes to the year they were a #1 before the season. they also vote them in the top 25 poll all the tim. how you can place them in, after they lost two to sou ms and their poor rpi is beyond me

Dude when your a baseball player and you have "LSU" across your chest, you can't get a bigger target than that.

I am not following this guys thinking. He says Vandy was the better. Then says LSU kepting trying to let Vandy back in the game. Well if Vandy is so damn good shouldn't they have taken advantage of these chances?

I hope not, let them make a trip somewhere else. Its not fair to them to always get sent to LSU IMO.

Pretty sure Southern will be here with so much focus on the economy and lack of money. I can only recall one year when Southern was sent to another regional ... Southern Miss. Any others?

Geography will likely play a bigger role than usual this year.

Yeah I know it just sucks for the kids. They work hard all year to reach the tourney. They deserve IMO atleast a trip out fo it. Especially these smaller schools who don't stand a chance of winning it all.
