I have a couple clients coming in town Thursday and wanted to take them to lunch. I have them booked at the Marriott convention center so anywhere uptown, downtown, warehouse distict, quarter would be fine.

Neither one of them have been here to my knowledge.

I'm just not looking for a long wait as we won;t be able to eat until around 1ish. Suggestions?

well it all depends on what level you are looking for. When I have clients in, its either Dragos in the Hilton, or Sun-ray Grill.

Also if you want uptown, Cannons has a nice turtle soup and blackened redfish. But its always nice to go to Paquels Manalies (spelling?)

Glassman has a great list. I would probably lean towards Rio Mar.

No offense to the poster who suggested it, but please don't do Cannons.

Just wondering, but whats wrong with Cannons? Granted I have not been there in about four-five months.

It's kind of a glorified Apple Bees from what I remember. There are a hundred places I would rather go around town, even to the small po-boy shops, etc.

It has been a few years since I last went there and I have never heard of anyone that wants to go there.

Probably should have been more specific.

I am sending them on a fishing charter Friday and have reservations at Emerils Friday night so I was looking for something a little more casual/less expensive for Thursday lunch. I was maybe thinking Acme or something along those lines. Any other suggestions

I think cafe reconcile is good and provides an excellent back story on some great things that are happening in Nola.

Luke and Rio Mar are my go to places for lunch, depending upon where I am.
