I refuse to call this a real baseball stadium. It has NO dirt. Although i would never like to see turf in the box i am okay with it elsewhere. But not to have dirt in the infield, on the track, and at home plate is blasphemy. How do others feel?

The flooding that Tulane incurred because of Katrina forced their hand. The entire field is field-turf with certain parts painted to look like dirt. Turchin is a very nice park and though I am a Tiger fan I live within walking distance, and have many great times there.
They serve beer, how bad can it be?

I went there in High School and toured the facilities before the renovation and it was nice then but I despise turn for any sport especially baseball.

I agree with this.

With no bias at all, I don't really care if it has dirt or not. It's an awesome stadium.

Sulphur High School has the same thing

I've always wondered...is home plate an actual home plate, or is it painted on the brown turf?

Played on a similar surface at Big League Dreams in League City south of Houston. Hitting on turf>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Hitting out of a massive hole. Plus all ground balls are true, no bad hops.

That's true JJ, although the turf actually slows down ground balls as compared to a hard natural field. You also don't get those ugly Baltimore chop hits on field turf.

It is a very nice stadium and again - they serve beer (abita on tap)!

Many other colleges have the same layout.
That's a sweet arse stadium. What's the seating capacity? 150?
And I think I counted 12 people in the stands for that game

I guess you were talking about the picture of Illinois' stadium
I have no idea about their capacity or their attendance, just linked a photo of the field.
