Brutal old ladies in left field

So we sit in left field last night and there were some older ladies that were just brutual to the likes of Ochinko and Mitchell.
When Ochinko was at bat she kept yelling "what, did you forget how to hit the ball while you were hurt? SWING!" After the game my husband said yeah, he was like 2/3 at the bat when she was screaming this.
Then another grandma age looking lady was like "this ain't freaking golf" when Mitchell was up.
I guess it's been a while since we've been to a game ... why can't these people realize that these are KIDS??? I just seem to remember The Box as being a little tamer than Tiger Stadium. There is NO MERCY in any LSU venue!
And poor Florida left fielder Avery #1 didn't stand a chance ... got his arse heckled all night.

I do want to add that my kids wanted and got autographs after the game ... those players were so nice and polite ... we've got a hell of a team and staff!

Well, I'm "old" then ... 40 in July. These were like 60+.

Yes, they were LSU people yelling at OUR guys ... we had our 3 kids with us and it kinda pissed me off. I mean they're kids and they won't hit every ball ... it's not like we lost or anything.

That's what I thought ... poor kids. This one lady really wouldn't just shut up ... even my 16 yo son was like what's her problem?

Were these old bats supposed to be LSU fans that were yelling at "our" players? That is one of the most irritating things about some of our fans, IMO. I sometimes hear fans yell obscenities at our players when they commit an error, SO or give up a HR and I CANNOT stand it. I've heard old men call them stupid idiots and other things similar. IMO, when the team makes mistakes, it is the time they need our support the most.

Yeah, they were bashing their own boys ... and some of the balls to outfield that Schimpf and Mahtuk (yeah I know I spelled them wrong) that they "missed" ... it was terrible.
And someone called Schimpf LAZY when he made that awesome diving catch. "He just waited then decided to pay attention" or something like that and then followed with "LAZY"!
Can you believe that????

It's a good thing that I wasn't sitting anywhere within an earshot of them, because I can promise you I would have said something to them. I've told quite a few guys that what they were saying was uncalled for. I'm a lady, but I can be vocal when I need to be.
And Ryan's catch was awesome. I sit in front of the visting teams bullpen, so it was directly in front of me.

I guess it's not one bit different that the football fans booing JLee or any other player. I guess I just expected baseball fans to be more polite and cordial ... dumb me!

Heck I went to the Villanova game on that Saturday and heard two different folks comment on our all black starting outfield and how that was "trouble waiting to happen".
We all have opinions, whether they be uniformed, unfortunate or illogical we need to at least need to be realistic and empathetic.
But as fanatics that's not an easy thing for us.
