Ott raped South Carolina in his THREE innings of work the Sunday game against them. Alabama's a much better hitting team than them, the best in the SEC. The game became a blowout and he lost concentration. Closers are use to being in a close game, and when it becomes a blowout sometimes they lose concentration a little. That's all that happened today.

In high school they don't have near as many games as a college season. Freshman tend to hit a wall. Just as college players do when they jump to a 162 game season.

That's not what happened today. He ran out of gas. That was the opinion of Ronnie Rantz and Paul Mainieri as well.
That's not to say that Ott couldn't be groomed to be a starter. But, he hasn't been. And, that would limit him in a longer role than he has now. He's probably good for 3 innings on good rest.
