He's not hiring an agent, so he'll most likely be back next season.

hopefully this is just him seeing if there's a chance he can get drafted...truthfully, if there is, he should leave as his stock can't improve that much considering he's going to be our only legit scoring threat next season & we are going to suck

man the thought of not having tasmin makes me sick...this will easily be the worst team we've had in over a decade...probably before the brady years

I swear Tasmin has been at LSU for 9 years.

LSU junior Tasmin Mitchell will announce shortly that he’s entering his name in the draft. Mitchell is not expected to hire an agent at this time and could very well return to LSU next season.

Can't blame him for looking. I haven't seen a mock with him going in the first round though, so I think it's likely he comes back to LSU next year.

Unless something has changed in the last week or so, he'll be returning to LSU. This isn't a big deal and I'd do the same thing in his position. He will be moved back to SF for his senior season and that's his only shot at making an NBA roster.

Would this not translate into big numbers? I realize that scouts look at the whole picture, but the team will be run through Tasmin next year.

I hate to say it, but he should go. I'd love for him to come back, but he's been a great Tiger. I hope he does what's best for him. He was pure class from '06 until now.

He doesn't stand to gain much, seeing as the team is going to be worse next year. I would love to have him back, but I am on the side that thinks now is the time.

I'm not sure why an NBA team would draft him. He lacks PF size, and is a little too slow for the SF and he also doesn't really have a 3-point shot. He would probably be drafted in the late late 2nd round, if that, he he declares.

I love Taz, he will be my favorite LSU player next year. But he will make a big mistake if he leaves for the draft.

He could graduate and have a degree? He'd get to play another year of college ball (especially for those that don't think he's going to be drafted)

He's an SF ideally, but he's only seen major exposure (outside of the '05-'06 run, of course) at PF...and that run was four years ago now. If he comes back and has the strong '09-'10 campaign he's capable of having from the SF position, then his stock could jump dramatically.

I think it'll be a big loss if he chooses to go, but I thought we'd be terrible this year and look what happened. It'surprising what good coaches that connect with young players can do with little to work with.

I bet you thought Davis would never sniff an NBA roster. Truly an ignorant comment.

I believe he'll latch on with a team and if not, he'll be grabbing 6 figures overseas.

It = draft status. Sorry.

I feel like the iron is hot for him NOW and another year of college, as much as I'd want that, wouldn't put 2 inches on him or make him 40 pounds heavier or lighter. He is a clear cut example of a guy who can play a lot of positions, but he's either outsized as a PF, outshot as a SF, or outquicked and out-dribbled as a SG. He could come back and work on the 3 ball and ball handling, but he's likley not going to be polished after a mere year of doing that.

Make no mistake, he is an awesome player. He is one of my favorite Tigers and I hope to God he comes back for 2010. If I am him, though, I have a very tough choice and believe me...the writers and scouts took notice of Tasmin Mitchell in 2009.
