I'm not sure how to comment on this...but it's very disturbing on several levels.

The YouTube video troubles me, along with someone actually posing for a photo with "Panchito"!

I'm pretty sure the Pancho's re-opening is one of the seven signs of the apocalypse.

Once again, to all of those enthusiasts of THAT place...go check out Fiesta Latina in Kenner before you go stand in line with the fatties at Pancho's. Post-Katrina, there are too many great, authentic place that are cheap and fresh.

My girlfriend wanted to go to Pancho's on Saturday night (really, it's the truth), so I told her to have a backup plan...
The freaking line was down to the end of the strip mall. We decided to hit McAlister's across the street, since we didn't have much time.
As we were having dinner, we witnessed several dismayed couples walking into McAlister's. None of them looked like they'd skipped a meal recently!

Were they all Mexican Nationals?

they were probably getting a sandwich for the line. you don't want them to starve to death to you?

So I take it from this thread that Panchos is still packed if you want to go. Thinking about going as soon as they open on Saturday.
Has anyone been there as recently as last weekend? Were their still crowds?

Hi All,
I'm the "freak" who posed with Panchito. I've loved having all of you checking out my blog. Come by anytime.
To answer the last question... yes, it is still crowded with lines around the parking lot at times, but if you get in early, i.e. before 5 for dinner, you can get seated right away.
For the best people watching in the city, definitely check it out!
Geaux Tigers!
