just finished it and loved it. Great all around story, suspenseful, romantic and had some action. Salim was a fricking G.

I was really skeptical about seeing it. Usually movies with insane hype never live up to it (aka Juno). But I absolutely LOVED Slumdog Millionaire. I saw it a few nights ago and have been recommending it to tons of people

I thought it was a decent movie but far from deserving best picture. I thought The Curious Case of Benjamin Button should have gotten Best Picture by a long shot.

PS-Yeah I agree the girl in it is beautiful, not so great an actress, but she is gorgeous.

Benjamin Button was kind of boring to me.

Did you not like Forrest?

I loved Forrest Gump, but wasn't really a fan of BB.

Only if they gave the award to the movie that sucked the most out of the Best Picture nominees.

+1

nothing has kept me as entertained or interested in a long time as Slumdog Millionaire did.

I watched it last night, and honestly, I didn't care much for it. I kept waiting for it to get good, but it never did. I thought The Wrestler was much better. Haven't seen Benjamin Button or Gran Torino yet, but I have the feeling I'll like them both better than Slumdog.

Negative on both counts.

I liked Gran Torino, but having two Hmong kids with zero acting experience held the film back.

I actually agree with you on something...

I found myself laughing at this scene. No "Best Picture" should have a dramatic scene that causes people to laugh at it b/c of the horrendous acting.

Yeah, but like Benjamin Button, it did not deserve best picture. Not in a year that included Pulp Fiction and Shawshank Redemption.

I agree w/ you 110% on that one. Shawshank got absolutely NO love until years after its release. I think it should have won Best Picture that year, or AT LEAST should have won SOMETHING. Best film never to win an Oscar. and sorry, but PF was better than Gump...

Benjamin Button wasn't on the same level as Slumdog

Well, I thought The Wrestler was better than Slumdog, and I don't even consider The Wrestler to be one of the best movies I've ever seen. Slumdog did absolutely nothing for me. I wouldn't even put it in my Top 100.

Benjamin Button was only nominated as a nod to the bigtime hollywood studios.

If you thought it was the same quality as the other nominees then please stop enlightening us with your opinion. Better yet just kill yourself.

Yeah, no one is allowed an opinion if it isn't yours.

I wish people would have stopped saying this in like 2004.

anyway back on topic..........I don't know why so many people didn't love this movie. It was a story about a kid that lived a very adverse life and the very life he lived ultimately gave him the knowledge to get the money and the girl in the end. It doesn't get much better than this. If you don't like it, your opinion sucks and you should kill yourself.
