If I had to pick one, knowing I could never have the other, I would pick a Tivo in a heartbeat...not just any DVR...it would have to be a Tivo, or something a lot better than the crappy Comcast DVR I once had.

I had TIVO first and I think service wise much better than the Cox DVR I have now. I wish I never would have made the switch, but at the time I couldn't afford the TIVO HD set

DVR--time is more important to me.

I can go to a buddy's house and watch a game in HD.

My Tivo could only record what was on tv.

The DVR records 2 shows playing concurrently so its better.
