Its ridiculous how much expectations some of you put on the baseball team. Think about it, you can't even be happy with a win anymore.

I don't think its not happy with a win....it's not happy with how crappy we looked.

I'd like to see some better things, too....but you know what?

Wins are all that matters.

I could live with mediocre performances against midweek teams as long as we remain consistent against SEC hitting; however, it really is disturbing how much better some really shitty schools hit against our opponents in contrast to us.

Agreed, these guys could be hitting better, hopefully they can start hitting lefties soon, it took them awhile last year, but they'll get it going. Besides, we know our pitching is good.

I agree with Josh...the problem against lefties is troubling, but this team is far too good for that to continue. I even think Leon will start to find his groove against the southpaws.

But just keep winning.

If its a consolation to any of ya'll, Kentucky's pitching is still looking great. And the kid from S.C. who pitched Friday night, you don't see a kid throwing 98 hardly ever in college baseball. He was an exception.

I like the winning no matter how tight. We are winning as a team so far - lot of different guys making plays, getting key hits, making good pitches. Our midweek pitchers finally put it together tonight. Hopefully, that carries over with some confidence until our big guns get the hits to drop. It feels like we are approaching our ABs better - getting productive outs, good swings, etc.

A win is a win. Look at what some other teams did tonight. Georgia lost to Wright State. Georgia Tech lost to Georgia State. That being said, I was disappointed in the hitting tonight.

Which is a bit of a surprise to me. I figured the pitching would be average and the bats would have to carry the team. Its been a pleasant surprise to say the least.

18-5. #2 in the nation. I am beyond happy. Baseball is one of those sports where you lose some and you win some.. and doesn't matter too much until you fight for Omaha

The consistently good pitching really bodes well for the rest of the season. And I think our bats will come around.

I do have to say that this extended slump worries me though. The number of 1-run wins we have against really crappy teams is a little scary.

Unless we win everygame 15-0 an SEC and CWS championship are meaningless

Even Mainieri last night in his postgame implied that he saw things last night he didn't like. In not so many words, he implied that some of his guys were lollygagging simply because it was Harvard and a midweek game, and that he's going to put a stop to it.

He is the coach, he needs to have that attitude

+1, though there are some here that really believe they know better than the coach.
