Let me begin by saying that I am extremely proud of the basketball team's accomplishments this year and the job done by Trent Johnson. Also, please understand that I'm not trying to be controversial, but does anyone out there think that Butch Pierre intended to undermine Trent Johnson by encouraging Anthony Randolph to go pro? If you've seen AR's NBA highlights (as I'm sure many of you have), there is little doubt that LSU would have beaten UNC, and possibly have been a threat to make the Final Four had AR stayed around for one more year.

Randolph would have been stupid to stay. The answer to your question is no.

A very talented freshman leaving early, esp if he's not at a basketball powerhouse, isn't exactly unheard of. What about Butch's character or past actions lead you to believe he would do that?

Tiger no not at all. Butch had nothing to do with Anthony leaving for the NBA. Yes it would have been nice to have him back this year and we could have used him but he made the decision not to come back. You Brady haters need to stop thinking you know everything and that Brady or his assistants ran people off b.c it is simply not true.

The same thing can be said about UNC many many times.like how if brandon wright had stayed at school UNC would have won the national title last year and would probably win easily this year.bottom line thought is very talented players that dont usually stick around more than 1-2 years, winning mean nothing to them when they're guaranteed to be a lottery pick in the NBA.so dont blame Butch Pierre this happens at lots of schools its just how college basketball is now, witch makes it harder than ever to built a team for a championship run.

If you've seen his NBA highlights coupled with the fact that he was drafted in the top 15, there is zero doubt that he made the right decision.

AR was a one-and-done the second he set foot on campus. I think everybody knew that going in.

I woudln't doubt it. Didn't Butch pull some shady shenanigans with recruits trying to get them to OSU?
