coach k's recruiting style is one of the main reason i dont see duke winning another title anytime soon.and im not just saying that because i dislike duke either.but he is a great coach even though it pains me to say it.

i think you underestimated how difficult it is to coach at a school like(UNC,Kentucky,Kansas).its not easy to win national championships when you constantly have your best players leaving early for the NBA.even this years UNC team lost a VERY important players in Brandon Wright and marvin williams to the NBA.with them UNC most definitely would have won the title last year and probably wins it again easy this year.and its not easy to get a roster full of high school all americans to coexist and play as a TEAM.remember these guys were stars in high school and all of them want to improve their "stock" for the NBA.Roy does a great job of getting these guys to play as a team despite all this.
roy may not be the greatest coach when it comes X's and O's of basketball, but hes probably the best recruiter in the nation and one of the best at messing talent.my point is his job is not as easy as you think.and had it not been for Wright and Marvin leaving early for the NBA he would have 2 national titles in his trophy case, and likely 3 after this season.

I will not be a jerk here. Instead, I would just ask you to remember what happened when LSU was put on probation. It was our own faults, but Roy certainly didn't do us any favors. I do think he is a good coach - better than average. He is not in my top 10, however, as I judge basketball coaches with what they do based on what they are given, as well as consistency. Roy will never have a bad team because he is at arguably one of the three best basketball universities in the country. Any 5 star basketball kid would put UNC in his top 5 for schools to visit. Roy, however, has one c'ship with 20 years as HC of both Kansas and UNC - two of the top 10 programs in America. Meanwhile, Jim Calhoun has two in 20 seasons at U Conn - a school that has only been on the radar basically since he came from Northeastern. Mark Few has Gonzaga winning c'ships and making Sweet 16's. Our very won Trent Johnson has taken three different teams to league success pinnacles. Tom Crean made Marquette a powerhouse again (and probably wishes, sometimes, that he was still there) since Rick Majerus. There are a lot of coaches who could win with UNC. I do not think Roy makes UNC. UNC makes Roy. That said, he wins 25-32 games a year, but so could others. Until he wins another c'ship (to give him two), I have to put him in the same category with the likes of Tubby Smith and Steve Fisher - coaches who were handed the keys to the Ferrari and allowed the school's name to help maintain the program's success.

The same thing can be said about UNC many many times.like how if brandon wright had stayed at school UNC would have won the national title last year and would probably win easily this year.bottom line thought is very talented players that dont usually stick around more than 1-2 years, winning mean nothing to them when they're guaranteed to be a lottery pick in the NBA.so dont blame Butch Pierre this happens at lots of schools its just how college basketball is now, witch makes it harder than ever to built a team for a championship run.

I like to congratulate LSU on a very well played game saturday. You LSU fans should be very proud of your team.LSU could have caved in at halftime being down by 9 points. But they came out 2nd half with lots of energy and played great.I think LSU's basketball program has a lot of potential in coming years to be very good. Its just a question of how fast LSU"s coach can rebuild the team since you guys will be losing some important players like thorton. And I look forward to UNC playing LSU again down the road, hopefully next season.
