No, but in addition to my regular vegetable garden I'm thinking about trying this with some hanging pots with a hole cut in the bottom.

Put a creole in one last year...never produced...I will try again this year...may try a bellpepper.

That sucks, I ordered one last night that comes with a stand, looks like a good idea
FWIW I also read somewhere that bell peppers do not do good in them but cucumbers and smaller hot peppers do good?

I don't think this will work either because of it not being a vinelike plant like a tomato or cucumber. I bought some cucumber plants to put in mine as well.

No, but the home made earthbox does work.
16 okra plants in one small box last year.

No, but I have seen someone grow tomato plants in an old bale of hay. You just have to keep the bale watered.

Update:
This thing is doing great, I have picked 2 tomatoes and I counted 24 green ones this afternoon with lots of blossoms still on the vine and it is almost touching the ground. I tried cucumbers but they did not make it, but the cukes I put in a pot are taking over and will be picking plenty by the weekend
BLT's this weekend with a cucumber salad

Tomatos: You don't have any problems with birds eating them?

Not yet, but I do have a lot of birds around the house, so as more of the tomatoes become ripe it may lead to a problem

I have had some problems in the past, Bird netting works wonders.
Wont have a problem this year.. every tomato plant I have is dead...southern bacterial wilt sucks..

Not sure if I'm inviting trouble or averting disaster, but I have a bird feeder in the vicinity of my garden and so far I haven't seen the birds go near any of my tomatoes or anything else. They seem fairly content with the easy pickins at the feeder.

Are the tomatoes placed in direct sunlight or shade?
