...March Madness.

Last year in the West bracket, #9 seed Texas A&M faces #1 UCLA.

This was played in Anaheim, CA FWIW. (50 min off UCLA's campus)

LINK

UCLA would go on to the Final Four.

8/9 w/e

Not much difference.

I'm not saying we beat them. This is really just STFU post to everyone saying we're going to get blown away.

We'll play tough...we just need Thornton and Tas to be hot, and anything can happen. But if they're not...ugh.

We need the team that beat the SEC tournament champion by 24 pts back.

8/9 is a shitty seed, but i agree if LSU doesn't pay attention to the name on UNC's unis who knows could be a great game, Butler will probably be a bitch though.

That was one of the worst "no calls" at the end of a game I have ever seen. Dude got mauled by two different players

Maybe he hits the free throw, maybe he doesnt, but he earned the right to go to the charity stripe.

One positive you can take out of being seeded 8/9, is that if you somehow pull the upset, you take that #1 seeds path to the final four. Its a big IF, but hey its not like its never happened. If we could have gotten a break or two A&M would have taken UCLA's spot last year and had a decent shot to get to the final four oddly enough.

LSU can definitely do it as well

Law took a dive when he felt Tyrus push him in the arse. Law even said after the game that it was incidental contact, and that you can't make that call at that point to decide the game.

And also remember that Mississippi State almost beat 1 seed Memphis in the 2nd Round last year.

The 1-8/9 game is sometimes a nail-biter. And other times it's a blowout...

MSU was a talented team that got jobbed last year a lot like LSU did this year but yeah that was a great game with 2 former rivals and the only close game for UofM before the Kansas debacle.

What are you talking about? We are referring to the A&M/UCLA game last year. (9 vs 1 match up) and how it relates to you guys taking on the Tarheels in round 2

and specifically I was talking about this:

I forgot what thread I was in. I was talking about the no call in 2006 when A&M was down 1 at the end to LSU.

A&M was trying to get the ball inbounds and Tyrus Thomas "bumped" Law out of bounds. Then the play unraveled from there without A&M even getting the ball past half-court.

Rhodes and Gordon were 2 great college players. If Gordon had stayed, State would be beastly this year.

TAMU has suffered some heartbreaking losses in the tourney, Antonio Anderson's clutch FT's sending probably their best team home in 2007, why couldn't KU have fouled him? LINK

Ironically enough Donald Sloan in back to back years was involved in the last play of the game. Got called for a ticky tack "rebounding foul" with 3 sec left in that sweet 16 game against Memphis; yet somehow couldnt get a ref to pull the whistle out of their pocket the following year against UCLA when he gets hammered by 2 different players on the jump shot with 5 seconds left

Oh well!

That TAMU team in 07 was loaded, beating them in SA was 100x tougher than beating UT in Houston the next year (granted Memphis had Rose vs UT).
