For those peeps in the know---what's the haps?

Any chance the Braves just eat Frenchy's contract and cut his terrible arse? I believe Dale Murphy--both the Mormon AND the poster--could probably put up better numbers.

I doubt it. He went yard in a spring training game yesterday, so that gets him at least 3 months to start the season

I've got a feeling if Frenchy does not put up .270/20/80, he may not be around this time next year. Schuerholz and Wren realize JF probably is not the franchise/poster boy anymore. McCann took that spot with another AS game appearance, and his 2nd Silver Slugger in 3 years.

Luckily, he never signed that deal that was offered to him and McCann, at I believe 6 years, 30 million. And he still has minor league options, so we can always send him down. Francoeur is a train wreck. Any time a player completely changes his batting stance in the offseason in the hopes of finding his stroke, you're going to be in for a long season.

OF Andruw Jones, attempting to restart his career with the Rangers, struck out in each of his first five spring training at-bats. Jones is in camp on a minor league deal, trying to make the team as a fourth outfielder.

Andrew Jones's 50 HR season laughs at this

not a chance this year at least. If he hits .230ish then maybe after the season

wow he's fallen off big time. If he'd just lose some freaking weight and go the other way every now and then he'd be a .280+ 40 HR hitter. But he insists on hitting every ball 500 ft down the left field line no matter what the situation is or where the pitch is located

Well Carl, the Braves have a solid mix of talented youth & experience both in pitching & position players. If the Braves can stay relatively healthy this season, look for them to be at least 10 games in front of the rest of the division by the end of August.

ETA: Frenchy will regain his 2006 & 2007 numbers.

big if. I've said all along, that if Andruw would have learned how to go the other way like Sosa was doing during his ridiculous stretch, that Andruw could put up similar numbers. He could be that good. He could have been putting up A-Rod numbers every year. That is what pisses me off so much about him. I hate his fricking fat guts.

While I hate Andruw, nothing pisses me off more than seeing Jeff Francoeur parade around with a big faggy smile on his face
