Zachary and Live Oak are also moving up to the Baton Rouge 5A district, which will not be split.

kind of suprised that they didn't split Hahnville and Destrehan out of the current district....of course nobody else wanted them in theirs.
I see St. Charles Catholic is dropping down to 2A, back with Riverside, Newman, and Curtis. Bet Frankie's not too happy about that.

I have a very very reliable source that says St. James lied about their numbers to jump up to 3-A in order to get away from Curtis. Also, Lutcher will dominate in 4A

Pineville didnt drop to 4A, they did however ask to get sent to the NELA 5A district

The defending 3A and 4A football champs are in the same district. With the Houma and Morgan City teams.
I guess we know who's finishing 1st and 2nd in that district

Lee dropping to 3A is going to make even more of a nightmare for that football program. Coach Peyton already had his hands full, but now having to play Parkview, Redemptorist, and Capitol. I feel for the guy.

They're returning EVERYONE at the skill positions, all but 2 o-linemen, and at least 7 starters on defense including the entire secondary. Lutcher would have won 4A last year and they will probably be better this coming year. Who's going to compete with them?? Belle Chase? Please. No Blake Matherne this year.

My bad...overlooked that one. Nonetheless, doesn't really change the point about Lee too much.
The Advocate lays it out well. Including all-girls and CNF (Coed non-football) schools.

ETA: I'm excited about the prospect of the 8-team 4A district in Baton Rouge. Those teams all played each other anyway, now it will finally matter.

Couple of observations:
1. They were really trying to get squeeze enough teams into 4A. There is roughly an enrollment difference(highest enrollment-lowest enrollment of 200 in 1A, 2A,and 3A. In 4A the enrollment difference is over 400.
2. Someone in District 3 5A is paying off the re-classification committee. District 2 has Acadiana, Barbe, Sulfur, STM and LaGrange. District 3 has Comeaux, Lafayette, Carencro, New Iberia, and Westgate.

Putting Belle Chasse and Morgan City in the same district is tough. That's like a 2-hour drive.

trying having Sulphur and Barbe in the same district.
Plus 45mins to an hour going to all the Lafayette schools.

Try having West Monroe to Shreveport and all the way down to Pineville
