once again you are talkin about punters doing the kickoffs, no team is going to waste a roster spot on someone doing kickoffs.

Give me one instance of a field goal he missed that cost LSU the game??

didn't lose the game, but he did miss 2 against fla in 07. It was a tight game.

also the week before vs. south carolina in 07, another tight game he missed one that we needed him to hit

as for the win vs. auburn in 07, thank god ya boy les called that play because if colt david would have kicked the fg, he would have missed.

That game wasn't nearly as close as the score was.

The Ravens have Matt stover who kicks field goals, another dude how does the kickoffs, and Sam Cook punts.

Let's try this again. As stated earlier, Carolina definitely employs Rhys Lloyd as a kick-off specialist and John Kasay place-kicks. The Saints have done it as well and numerous other teams. Wade Richey, an LSU alum made his living in the NFL for years as a kick-off specialist for the 49'ers.

Oh I see. He misses a field goal in the first half and its career changing.... and now we call games close becuase of just a point in the first half... even though the final was like 28-16 I think(Im to lazy to look it up and be sure) and even though its a two possesion game, LSU just did what needed to be done. And didnt Colt David score a TD in that game, wouldnt it kinda make up for one missed field goal.

the punter did it for the Saints, your wrong, and let's try this again, if a team wants to waste a roster spot, which is better suited going to a "real" position that is crucial to the team, that is there prerogative.

only if they are put in the position, which isn't often, and in a lot of cases they blow it. my point is, if your top CB goes down and you don't have another good CB to back him up because you gave the roster spot to the kickoff guy, wouldn't the team be at more of a risk?

well your saying how this game being "close" is davids falt because he missed one field goal. SO then what does he do, go and score a TD.

and then....

You mention the Auburn game in '07, how in the world do you know he would miss that kick? And hadnt he already made 2 in that game to get the score to be 24-23... So the game wouldve been tied instead of won with that TD pass.

And you say the florida game in '07 we didnt win by any means because of David, well didnt he make 4 xtra points in that game, which is the difference in 28-24... just saying. Since someone had mentioned him missing xtra point before

idk it depends on the situation. If they have to kick a game winning field goal, then the kicker. And you say a top CB gets hurt, isnt that why teams have depth for situations like that, I mean it would have to be a pretty foolish head coach to only have one good CB...

maybe not the kickoff specialist, but the kicker who kicked the game winner vs the Titans had something to do with it.
