So does Colt get drafted or catch on with a team?

Rare to get drafted if your a kicker. Will probably get couple invites to participate at different camps.

won't get drafted, and he has to prove he can handle kickoffs.

not in the top ten kicking prospects I've seen...

Wrong on the kickoffs issue. Nearly half the teams in the league have the punter or even a "kick-off specialist" handle kick-offs.

I live right next door to him. I'll ask him about his chances.

Yeah that was a chip shot 63 yarder vs. Arkansas he shanked to blow the game.
Way to be a douche for no reason.
The only field goal he missed that could maybe apply to the point you're trying to make is that one last season right before halftime against Alabama. And that wasn't the reason we lost the game. There's no other time in his career he missed a big situation field goal that cost us a game.

It is the Rant...you are allowed and encouraged to find fault with your school's all time leading scorer.

Give me one instance of a field goal he missed that cost LSU the game??

The only thing I can remotely think of is when he had a PAT blocked against Ole Miss at the end of regulation that forced OT, and I don't even think that was his fault. And he hit the GW FG in OT anyways...

He will get invited to camps and should do fine

Off the top of my head, in the Saints division which is the only one I follow closely, Carolina has a KO specialist and the punter for the blackbirds, Koenen I think, does their kick-offs. The Saints employed a KO specialist or a punter who could KO through all the John Carney years, so until he left that was 3 of the 4 teams in the SE division. I recently read an article referring to the fact that NFL kick-off averages were down and coverage stats were declining. They talked about the fact that most of the best place-kickers in the league only averaged about 60 yards on their kick-offs. David has a big field goal leg and he will get a shot some where. I see no reason he can't kick-off 60 yard line drives like the majority of place-kickers in the league are doing.

Hell no.

Not trying to bash David, how long was the one he missed against UK in 2007 that would have won the game?
He will go to a few camps, if he is good enough, he will make it.

59 yards. A veritable chip shot.

I remember it was over 50. I didn't know it was that long. I thought it was like 54 or so. I remember he had the leg, it just barely missed wide.

As I recall, had the distance, wide right.
