I can’t get over how good of an offseason we’ve had so far. I get we want more depth at CB, but our top 3 are pretty good. I think we have 3 good safeties also. I’d like to get a true kicker, I don’t trust ours. Here’s to a good offseason

I don’t think they want to wait but it is hard to go from not making the playoffs to Super Bowl over one offseason.

True, but it was more than just off season,-- we were improving towards the end of the year, and the last 8 weeks of the season shough was a top 10 qb i believe. O line should be very good. Weapons everywhere. Division champs is very achievable

Looks like we'll be looking at a trade or free agency to fill some areas. Doubtful we fill the CB spot from in house. I do like the way they are building around Shough.

Not disagreeing with you on the premise of what you are saying, and I have been saying you take bpa and not need, but

Who the hell is the 3rd pretty good CB? xD

We have 2 pretty good CBs. We still need someone that can legit backup the outside and the nickel, even if Blackmon winds up filling that role.

Let the chefs cook

They had a good draft a year ago

I like this one alot more. Some risk involved yes. However the potential. In 3 years our 2 best WRs might be from this draft and not the guy you are paying 35-40 million per year to.

Our first goal is competing for and winning the division. We have a chance to do just that this year.

As for SBs...thats not their mindset. Not this year. We are still polishing the foundation. If the Saints and Shough want to overachieve year 2 more power to them. Moore is just resetting the entire roster which is exactly what Sean did when he arrived.

I agree. Not so worried about defensive side of the ball for now. I mean, look at what we were able to produce with an offensive juggernaut while Drew was here. Our defense needed so much help to even hold opponents to 10 points less a game to where we weren't playing from behind.

The young kid Lance may be a special teams returner with his 4.3 speed. Tyson wasn't my favorite pick, but at this point, injuries can happen at any moment. I feel Olave is one or two head shots from ending his career. Vele and Tyson may be able to be some huge play-makers.

I DO love watching Tyson's route running and ability to get separation. He also goes AFTER BALLS which are thrown poorly. So with Shough throwing some good balls, he may be able to continue running in stride and use his speed.

I love the TE pick up from Georgia, as I wasn't sold on what we have, even with the Fant pickup. If JJ would catch most of everything thrown to him, we would be a much bigger force inside the 20 yard line. I remember when we had Graham, all you had to do was throw the ball within his reach and it was a done deal.

I feel like with your #1 Olave, #2 Tyson and #3 Vele plus a good set up at TE puts us in a great spot to average at least 21+ points per game. You then throw in Etienne Jr., Neal and Kamara and it makes defenses begin to wonder.

I remember watching when we had Deuce, Reggie, Thomas and then having Colston, Henderson.......the run set up the pass plays and they were huge. Having a bruiser-type RB and then a speed guy forces guys to play up more, leaving the burst-speed WR to get open.

ISAAC YIADOM isn’t a bad player and I don’t feel there is a big drop off when he has to play.

I obviously had to copy and paste his name

Take advantage of our shitty division while we can and anything can happen in the playoffs

Next offseason we have a lot of money to upgrade the defense if we need to

There's a reason he has been a journeyman, and he started and played very poorly last year before getting benched.

Yes he was good for us his first stint here, but he is washed up now. If he has to play at any point we are cooked.

I love the optimism

And we need it as Saints fans.

Shough played great in messed up situations but also against mostly average or bad teams

This year is to gauge Shough with talent, against the league but what we didnt see last year was Shough against the best. That matters. Shough in a shootout on the road with division on the line or olay9ng so and so with conference standing on the line.

This is us making a step toward competing but still feeling out the waters. Its the smart approach.

Like Mikey said when you had Drew you were always a player away. They aren't doing that with Shough. Shough has to earn his right to stay QB of New Orleans but all Kellen did was shower you with love and support. So im really excited. I think our HC believes in this guy and I saw the same glimpses you did...then you do this...your giving him everything he needs.

Remember that the coaches see, and know, way more than we do. The Riley kid could be that guy, and if Kool-aid turns a corner we've got our guys.

Yes those are our starters on the outside. Who is our starter at nickel (right now projected to be one of our safeties), and who is the backup to any of the 3 spots?

Not saying we need to add 3 corners, but you at least need 1 more guy in that rotation, especially if you have a safety projected to start at nickel.

I think the goal is likely making the playoffs if you gave them truth serum which is attainable in our division with some injury luck and younger parts of our roster gelling. We’re likey another year or so turning over the roster from talking about serious contention.

I agree, but I think it was more than just weaker competition. He was putting it together game after game after game after game after game. Consecutively. But yes we can't know for sure because the competition wasn't the elite teams. He could only play the schedule he has in front of him. Being consistently top 10 means a lot that many weeks in a row regardless,... especially as a rookie.

This isn't a superbowl team.. This was always a 3yr rebuild. Hopefully a few of these rookies will become either starters or key contributors to go along with next year's rookie class. Next year's salary cap we will be in a much better position. Just let it play out and enjoy the ride.

Don’t tell that to our previous SB team.
