WWE Post-Smackdown Thread: New Free Agents Edition

So no resolution to the Iyo/Asuka/Kairi storyline. Kairi could’ve had a nice run as a face when she finally turned on Asuka. I guess we get a Backlash match with Iyo and Asuka?

Now the Kairi/Iyo match on RAW makes sense. They just pissed away one of their better storylines this year. At least the two of them got to work one final match together. Asuka is weakened by this too. Backlash will probably be the last time we see her until they need a warm female body to kill time.

So I posted this elsewhere yesterday in a discussion about who would get the ax. I almost listed Black/Vega but figured they'd skate by since they were HHH Black & Gold who went over in the Priest feud. The Creeds/Ivy & AA not getting released surprises me the most. Dumping MCMG but keeping Fraxiom makes little sense. Just get rid of them both.

That would open up enough room to give this round of NXT callups a chance. Perhaps there's a surprise cut or two from the women's side so they can bring up Fatal Influence. Fraxiom hasn't had much TV time either and were relegated to a WWE World match.

NXT has a ton of dead weight but their arrangement with TNA may come into play. OTM, Hank & Tank, Andre Chase, Josh Briggs, Noam Dar, Karmen Petrovic, Nikkita Lyons, and Wendy Choo seem to be low hanging fruit. Thea Hail would probably do a lot better in TNA.

I've yet to watch Smackdown as I was enjoying a cigar and watching the draft. I've got a sports backlog to wake up to so I doubt I watch it until before RAW. The callups were obvious from their two week event. Blake (obvious SD with RAW getting Sol) put over Tatum, Saints was out of the picture (obviously headed to hang with Cody on SD), and Jacy Jayne/FI fits into the US Title picture.

He really wasn’t…..he was never at the top of the card. He was only mid card in AEW because their talent pool outside of the top of the card is just so damn bad….but he belongs on the mid card in AEW because that’s where he belongs. He could have took his character in a Mankind type of way and been a better version of Mankind but he obviously can’t take the ball and run with it.

Frankly pretty much the same can be said of anyone on that list. There isn’t one person on that list that fans will get behind like they did Truth when he was released.
