Star position for Staleys defense

One player that I would love to be in NOLA (yes I know all us LSU fans would love to see our tigers in black and gold) is AJ Haulcy. He is one hell of a tackler and also a ball hawking safety. He fits perfectly in the star position with his size, speed, and ability to blitz+cover. He would be an amazing pick for us.

I think Emmanuel McNeil-Warren would fill that role better, with his ability to play more of a LB role.
But I am wondering if people start using smaller guys in this third safety role that's being created in modern DS. As of now they're typically big guys (Kyle Hamltion, Emmanwori)

That's who I had in mind. I don't know how long he's going to last when it starts back up tonight, but it probably won't be long

I prefer Keionte Scott or Treydan Stukes who played the star in college.
That said, I really don't know exactly what Staley wants for that position. Could Caleb Downs have played the star? Sonny Styles? Of players currently on the team would he go for Quincy Riley, Blackmon, or Sanker?

Caleb Downs would have a been a fantastic fit for star. And I actually think Haulcy is a better fit for star than Scott. Scott was more of a blitzing nickel corner and is a little bit more limited in my opinion. But both would be great additions to our secondary.
Currently Blackmon is probably the best fit that currently on our roster to answer your second question.

I think Stukes won't last too long in the 2nd.
