Comparing our current WRs vs whats available in the draft

Was curious what people believe when it comes to the talent at WR in the draft compared to what we already have. For instance, is Olave better than all the WRs available.. could we take anyone who is superior to him?
How many WRs in the draft seem obviously better than Vele? At what point in the list do you think the draftable WR would not be better than our potential 3rd or 4th options?
Chris Olave
Devaugh Vele
Mason Tipton
Ja'lynn Polk
Bub Means
Trey Palmer
Kevin Austin Jr
Ronnie Bell
Damian Alford

What round is Elijah Sarratt predicated to go? I loved watching him, and depending on what we do in the first I’d be happy to draft him.

Man it looks even worse when they’re all written down.

Vele was a 7th rd draft pick. By default most of the guys drafted in the 2nd/ maybe 3rd should have equal or higher potential off the bat. Polk technically has higher potential than Vele as a 2nd rd with limited targets.
You have:
1. Olave
2. Vele
3. Draft (2nd-3rd) (could be better than Vele)
4. Polk- (could be better than Vele)
5. Tipton
6. Kevin Austin Jr- (Can jump Tipton IMO)
7. Bub Means- ( Healthy can beat out Tipton)
8. Damien Alford- (Who tf knows? Could be better than Vele, could not make the roster)
You could also draft a 2nd WR in the 4th-6th and still have a good chance for them to get a spot or end up WR5-WR6.
Last year Tipton was our WR2-WR3. Its pretty clear that we are in a better position even if its just with "upside" and not any current guarantees.

Are you kidding? Colson was a 7th rounder, did that mean 2nd and 3rd rounders had more potential than him? Where a player was drafted is irrelevant to what kind of player he may become.

Totally agree. Vele is a stud. All I saw him do was catch every single thing thrown his way.

If Colston is a 7th and we take a 2nd rd WR the same draft then Yes, the 2nd would be seen as having higher potential initially.
Are you saying that guys aren't drafted higher based on potential? That makes absolutely 0 sense.
First everyone thinks Vele is a bust, now Vele is Colston and anyone drafted in the 2nd by default can't touch him. Y'all go from one extreme to the next.
Yeah Vele could be really good. He was also a 7th rd WR. Yes, any 2nd rd WR has the potential to be better. They might be worse, they might be a bust, they can also 100% end up better. That's not a crazy take.
Can a 7th end up better than a 2nd? Sure. Is it more likely that a 2nd rd draft player is better than a 7th? Statistically yes so this opinion is completely asinine.
I don't expect Polk/ Draft WR to be better than Vele but there's absolutely no guarantee they aren't.

So fricking bad
I would bet anything that even after we draft at least 1 WR, we sign a vet in FA after the draft. We have to

Our WR's suck so bad that we apparently have Olave and Colston (the best WR core we have ever had) along with 2 2nd rd picks that have no chance of being better than 7th rd WR's.
What argument would y'all like to make? Do we have the best WR core in our history or do they suck? I've never seen WR's that simultaneously are so good that 2nd rd WR's can't be an upgrade and so bad that we would rather pull someone off the street.
At this point y'all are just pessimistic contrarians at best.

I might be crazy… but for some reason I think Kevin Austin Jr could be a very good wr4/5 for us

Kevin Austin Jr/ Polk/ Bub Means can all be better than Tipton for sure. And Tipton was our WR3 last year...
Last Season:
1. Olave
2. JJ
3. Vele
4. Tipton
5. Pettis
6. Kevin Austin Jr
7. Welch
Projected 2026:
1. Olave
2. JJ
3. Vele
4. DRAFT***
5. Fant***
6. Polk***
7. Kevin Austin Jr***
8. Tipton
We should start the season with atleast (4) targets better than last years WR3.
You still have Alford/ Means/ Palmer that coulb be better than Tipton and a possible late Rd WR.
We aren't adding Justin Jefferson but we sure as shite are getting better.

I mean Vele played 13 games and had 2 games over 40 yards. He has an injury history as does Polk.
He has role but we are better for it the further down the pecking order we can push him

He was more involved after benching Rattler and shipping off Shaheed though. I'd like to see what he can do with a full year with Shough.
