What else is comparable to Portofino Island Resort?

After reading some reviews here, we went last year. I really like the setup where you get a condo, but it feels like a resort with restaurants, bars, etc. Are there any other options within 6-ish hours of Baton Rouge with similar amenities? Beach is a plus, but not required if there are things to do for kids nearby.
Portofino was nice, and we might go back. But we like to try new things.

Orange Beach has a few places similar. Turquiouse places comes to mind. and Caribe is pretty similar

Thanks. I hadn't really looked at Turquoise b/c I think all the condos are 3 bedrooms, which I don't need. I've passed by Caribe probably 50 times and never thought twice about it. I'll give it a look.

I looked at partofino last year. Didn’t stay there! It was cheaper than anything in orange beach

Budget will matter here, but the Grand in Foley would be an option.
You could easily drive down to the actual beach a day or two also. They have a beach onsite but its on the bay.

Checkout short-term rental of a small condo on back side of Seaside. LINK
Only stayed at Portofino once. It worked great for 3 adults + 3 kids. Bay side and Gulf side offered great variety of things...always billed to room. Extra bit of fun was low-level military air traffic between Elgin and Pensacola NAS.
Big negative was filthy floor in the suite. Bare feet quickly turned black, appeals to house keeping did not help, and switching units wasn't an option.

Wouldn't really call them "condos"; pretty much each one is separate cottage house for rent.
Took a walk down memory lane looking at your link. From 1996 to around 2010, we went there just about every year (sometimes twice a year). Stayed in a good number of different cottages. Used to enjoy it a lot when the two girls were growing up.
Lots more development occurred around it (Watercolor in particular). Seaside got too crowded and then too expensive, and now over-run with crowds of obnoxious spoiled rich teenagers (many who aren't actually staying there).
Things change, not always for the better.

We've stayed there several times. I like that it's not right down in the middle of Pensacola Beach, kind of secluded to itself but still close to go to the restaurants, the only thing I don't like is that you have to cross the highway to get to the beach.
We stayed at San Destin Golf and Beach Resort. They have restaurants, shops and a lot of stuff to do. I play golf so it was great for me.
