Issue with college sports

NIL has ripped the soul out of college athletics.
The characteristic of Desire is gone at the team level. Sure, it's there at the individual level but when "I" becomes before "we" you have eliminated the definition of team.
This is where LSU Baseball is.

Didn’t seem to affect them last year

or its the more likely scenario that they are just not as talented as their evaluations
I don't know why some of y'all try to make this more complicated than it is

So what changed between last year and this year?. Not everything it as complicated or in depth as some of y’all think. Even great coaches like Jay aren’t immune to having bad teams.

Correct. This is what some people don't seem to grasp. Jay took a different approach this offseason. He said he studied teams that had maintained success b/c he didn't want the drop off he had in 2024. I don't know what those adjustments were or lessons learned, but they haven't translated to success this season (yet). There is still time for things to improve. They certainly did in 2024 in the second half of SEC play.

The superconferences are the one thing I'd undo.

No, but there's a "ME" in that mofo.

So it only affects LSU baseball? What about the programs that are succeeding this season? Did they not get the We/I memo about the issue with college sports and the NIL ripping souls?

If it’s college sports as a whole that has been corrupted and this LSU baseball team is the result, then how are other programs not experiencing the exact same? Shouldn’t it apply equally since everyone is under the same situation?

Seems like an excuse for a team playing poorly. Teams play poorly, it’s happens.
