Trump was displeased with Gabbard when she didn't wholeheartedly endorse the Iran war during her recent testimony to Congress about threats to the U.S., according to five advisers and confidants who spoke with the president.

quote:

Between the lines: Stone, 73, has been a friend and adviser to Trump, 79, since 1979 and has a special relationship with the president no one else has. He gave four reasons for Trump to keep Gabbard, according to two people who spoke with Stone:

1. Gabbard was loyal, gave congressional testimony in a professional manner and never disputed the president.

2. Gabbard wasn't going to resign like Kent and didn't deserve to be proactively fired.

3. Firing Gabbard would needlessly create a damaging news cycle for Trump — and make her into a martyr of sorts for those in the president's base agitated by the war.

4. If she were fired and given that aura of credibility among MAGA dissenters, Gabbard could become a potent GOP presidential candidate in a little over a year. That might hurt Trump's preferred successor, Vice President Vance, in the early 2028 primary states of New Hampshire and South Carolina.

quote:

Friction point: The dividing line in the controversy is Israel. Loomer and other Gabbard critics faulted her for hiring Kent, whom they accused of antisemitism when he resigned and accused Israel of manipulating Trump into war with Iran.

That last line will get people worked up

Agreed

And it's a good sign that he's willing to listen and be reasoned with

Tulsi is one of the best appointments he has made.

Let's assume for the sake of discussion that Stone provided precisely that advice to Trump wrt Tulsi.

How exactly would one be able to know and deduce THAT ALONE was the absolute deciding factor on him not firing her?

How or why exactly would that be a bad thing even if so?

Did I suggest it was a bad thing?

No. In fact I did the literal opposite.

I'm still waiting for Tulsi's resignation. There were numerous people around here who insisted she was either resigning or would be fired.

For future reference, Laura Loomer isn't a real source, folks.

You’d think at least one of the pros or cons to firing somebody would be related to their job performance

Your OP did not make an indication one way or the other. Sorry if I wrongly inferred you were posting this somehow critically.

I don't see any reason to doubt this. Roger Stone has been waging all our war on Laura Loomer on X about this. Earlier today he told her that her breath reeks of Netanyahu's cock.

In fairness to you I made the remark in a subsequent post

You could have a video of Trump saying this in the Maga crew will deny it. You’re dealing with a group here that refuses to look at stuff logically. They are much like the progressive left and it’s scary to see.
