Who is our chief scout, so to speak?

Who is primarily in charge of evaluatiing and recruiting the players on this roster?

This thread is not going to go how you want it go.
Just take a lap.

Texas is loaded this year. We look like a mid to lower level talented team.

How did Johnson whiff so bad on this talent??!! We have no pitching and 3.5 guys that can hit. Yorke, swing and miss, Dardar swing and miss.. pitching? All around a complete whiff! Fielding? We look like an under 12 rec team out there! It’s pathetic! Johnson has to send them all packing with the exception of about 5 players. What a joke!

This is what happens when the college transfer port portal interferes with the college world series

No it probably won't. I realize this is supposed to be an echo chamber where we don't say anything critical about the baseball team or its coaches, but I'm asking an honest question.

quote:just not true.
We have no pitching
quote:We've got 5 guys with OPS north of 1.000, and that doesn't count Stanfield or Curiel.
3.5 guys that can hit.

Dardar swing and miss

Rizy has digressed. They were hoping for a jump
Caraway was rated very high in the portal. I think too 5-10
Dardar can hit but can’t beat out any of the outfielders.
He dipped back into Grand Canyon and it didn’t work this season like last.
Like another poster said, he was winning a title while everyone else was grabbing players. And I’m sure LSU got beat out for some financially. There a no question in my mind about that.

the echo chamber is the people who just say random things shitting on every aspect of the team, regardless of how irrational or wrong they are, after every loss or even when the team is behind after the 3rd inning in a game (sometimes sooner). It's amazing how the dumbest posts get the most likes after a loss. but yeah, the echo chamber is people who don't speak critically about the team ad nauseum

I asked a question. I haven't said a single thing "shitting on the team", and yet several posters are already riled up. That's what i'm talking about. And no one has answered the question.

Looking like Arkansas is having the same problem. Seems like right now the CWS is a blessing and a curse

If you look at the trends for the teams who have made it to the semis in Omaha (in the portal era), the rate of struggling the following season is pretty damn high.

It’s called being screwed on the NIL end… they didn’t have the money to go out and get what they wanted and had to settle for fourth and fifth year guys

When Riz is missing it’s always yanking it to the left. Has to be mechanical right.?

No. You don't whiff so bad that you lose to McNeese, Northeastern, USL, Sacramento State (series). and now Bethune Cookman, if I'm spelling that correctly, because of NIL. There is a larger issue at play here.

The “larger issue at play” is replacing both weekend starters, your 3rd starter/1st pen arm, your closer (because he’s now Fridays) and 4 starters on the infield is fricking difficult.
Just like 2024, the amount of elite talent that is no longer on the roster from a title team is difficult to replace.

The "larger issue at play" is evaluating and recruiting the players needed to fill those roles. Having a down year is one thing. This is something entiirely different, and it's unacceptable at LSU.

This is dumb, melty fricking nonsense.
