Possible disinformation to scare the hell out of adversaries?

Seems weird to reveal this, otherwise.

What does The CIA do best?? It’s like you forgot what they put out about the weapons officer from the F 15E.

Telling someone that we have a technology doesn’t mean it’s still not a secret in how it works and other uses/advancements.

That’s like me telling my mom that computer chips are a thing. The secret “is out” but what the frick is she going to do with that info??

If they're talking about this technology, they likely have much more powerful things that they're not talking about, and I'd imagine the other intelligence agencies can read between the lines.

Read Tom Clancy’s novel Rainbow 6.

It’s at least 30 years old.

John Clark was killing bad guys in the jungle with this device a long time ago.

And people still think the Biondi project on the stuff under the pyramids is fake.

Bingo. There are many features to this tech that are not even close to being included in the original description here.

ETA: this tech is not even classified. You can look it up if you are interested enough. There's even more impressive stuff in use by DoW that is available via open source. Bad guys have access to it but they have zero clue on how to use it effectively. Your average TD board poster is as savy as a tech operator in the IRG tech ops. That's how far back having a closed society puts you. Do a good read on stuxnet. It's a good place to start on understanding the "capabilities" of the IRG technical folks.
