Pretty clear that he was trying to buy time for Cowan to get warm, Yamin to get settled at C, and maybe an outside chance at taking a run off the board.

Then send a Dr out to look at Serena. Examine his eyes. Check coordination. Make him jog around. Plenty of reason to take time when there is an injury
